3.5* ARC provided by NetGalley The start to the new Commonwealth trilogy reminded me a lot about the Void trilogy. The plot plays mainly in the void again and we get more of a fantasy story than scifi space opera with awesome technology. That was my negative point in the Void trilogy and it is here as well. The first three books were by far the best scifi books I ever read, sad to see Hamiltion set the books back in the Void. An exploration of another galaxy with nigel would have been great, but let's see how the story will continue given the surprising end. It's by no means a bad book, but it's a blend of genres not pure science fiction.
