Talon (Ashes & Embers, Band 4)

„To love Talon“ ist der vierte Teil der Ashes & Embers Reihe und da wir Talon schon ein bisschen aus den drei Vorgängerbänden kennen, war ich schon sehr gespannt auf seine Geschichte. Mich hat der Klappentext sehr an „Hochzeit auf den ersten Blick“ erinnert und ich war gespannt, was die Autorin aus dieser Thematik macht. Carian Cole hat einen unglaublich tollen, packenden und emotionalen Schreibstil. Ich war so gefesselt von allem, sodass ich das Buch einfach nicht mehr aus der Hand legen konnte. Innerhalb eines Tages war ich mit dem Buch durch. Erst war ich etwas skeptisch, da dieser Teile sehr viel mehr Seiten hatte als die anderen Bände. Dennoch kam zu keiner Zeit Langeweile auf. Die Handlung war gut durchdacht und es war überhaupt nicht kitschig oder übertrieben dramatisch. Die Charaktere waren komplex, gut ausgearbeitet und facettenreich. In Talon habe ich mich direkt verliebt. Zwar war er manchmal ein Idiot, aber man hat gemerkt wie ernst ihm diese Sache mit dem heiraten war. Er hat sein Verhalten geändert, ist reifer geworden und hat um seine Frau gekämpft. Ich mochte seine Entwicklung und das Ende hat mir fast das Herz zerrissen. Talon ist ein unglaublich starker Mann. Asia war mir am Anfang sehr unsicher, aber je besser man sie kennenlernt, desto besser konnte ich hier Verhalten nachvollziehen. Sie ist das komplette Gegenteil von Talon, aber gerade deswegen ergänzen sich die beide einfach perfekt. Ich liebe das Feuer und das Knistern zwischen den beiden. Es hat einfach Spaß gemacht Talon und Asia auf ihrem Weg zu begleiten. „To love Talon“ ist ein wunderbarer vierter Band der Reihe und Talons Geschichte steht den anderen in nichts nach. Das Buch ist emotional, humorvoll und wunderschön zu lesen. Wer die Bücher von Storm, Vandal und Lukas mochte, sollte sich Talon definitiv nicht entgehen lassen. Jetzt bin ich sehr gespannt auf Ashers Geschichte. Von mir gibt es eine absolute Leseempfehlung.

I had to stop at 45% Asia and Talon are both immature and annoying. Miscommunication happens so often that at some point it is just too much. I felt no chemistry between the main characters. Asia is not a female character I enjoy reading about. She is weak, insecure, and constantly in victim mode, but stubborn and demands that Talon will change for her. She eavesdrops, reads journals that are supposed to be private, and shows no affection to Talon but wants to hear from him he begins to have feelings for her. As if buying a house, spending time with her the way she wants, and taking the whole marriage seriously for the rest of his life is not enough to know he wants her in his life. People express their feelings in different ways. Or if she needs this confirmation that badly, why just don't talk to him? Also, she does not show her feelings for him either. She doesn't even start to talk about it or try to express it. Talon wanted someone who is not after his body or money and doesn't know much about him, but when he gets it, he is upset and insults a woman about her appearance. It's just ... I'm actually sad this book didn't work for me. I am a big fan of Torn and Tied. After that, I was looking for more stories from the author. I liked the atmosphere of family, friends, rock, love, nature, and small town a lot. Unfortunately, this book did not work for me.
