This was my second Kingfisher novel and my first romantasy by her and it was a lot of fun! Older, very quirky characters, a woman who knows what she wants (kinda), a grumpy mc who is still understanding, some magic, a cozy world and a weird quest :D I had a lot of fun reading this and will definitely continue this series! Also, Brindle 🥺🦡🤌🏻
With a couple of T. Kingfisher special editions coming up, I wanted to dive into the worlds of this author. I decided to start with Swordheart because a) standalone (of sorts) b) I was promised cozy and c) I love the trope of an entity living in a sword. And oh, this novel delivered! The book is indeed cozy, but also very funny with just the right kind of humor for me. It has a slightly older FMC (meaning not 18ish), and the romance is very sweet and not annoying at all. I'm excited to learn that there are many more books in the same world as Swordheart, so count me in for many more T. Kingfisher books on my tbr for this and the next years.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 🌶️🌶️/5 Ein weiteres Highlight aus der Feder von T. Kingfisher! Die Story war eher cozy und die Lovestory sehr cute. Ich fand Halla so lustig, wie sie gefühlt andauernd redet und Fragen stellt. Sarkis war gefühlt 80% der Zeit genervt, wenn er nicht für Halla geschwärmt hat und die Dynamik der beiden hat mich so oft zum Lachen gebracht. Leider gibt es keine Bücher zu den anderen beiden Kriegern, die wie Sarkis in Schwerter gezaubert wurden. Aber vielleicht macht T. Kingfisher noch ein Trilogie draus, wie in den Acknowledgements angekündigt.

How about unsheathing a sword and being face to face with an immortal who is sworn to defend the wielder who has his own age old back story and is ready to entagle his life with the clumsy big chested and talkative widdow? Welcome to the very entertaining world of swordheart, a suprise hit by Kingfisher in my opinion. It has all the necessary bits, fun, fights, love and hatred with some lovable characters and managable world building. I have to say however that kingfisher has a certain scheme she follows for the location use in her books. That is probably the only thing that i dislike about this book, which isnt a big deal to be honest.
4.5 Hilarious banter! I need more T. Kingfisher in my life.
So viel Gutes: der Ritter als Bodyguard, ältere, super sympathische Protagonisten, cosy, lustig, tolle Geschichte, die Welt (world of the white rat)...
