Second story by blake crouch and I like it a lot.
Could be the themes he is adressing that capture my interest, but it could also be the way he discovers the themes and make them do twist and turns. I am not fully aware of why this author has me on edge but i like it very much. This story adresses AI and its development with its core idea being: sometimes not knowing where your work leads you.
Like a perfect mixture of old Black Mirror episodes, Ex Machina and Detroit: Become Human. I could not stop reading and then it was over, just like that! I hoped the story was longer because I desperate need Sci-Fi and speculative fiction stories like this in my life. Now I'm ready to read more by Blake Crouch. I don't know why but I somehow put it off for a while. This will change for sure!
I liked this story. I liked the doomed romance, how she got too attached to the AI. Even though she constantly thought of all the danger Max posed, in the end she was human and could not behave perfectly. (Also if she was allowed to go to a consortium with her project, the story would have another outcome). As other people said: this is my second favourite from the collection!
