This book absolutely broke me. Awesome!
I finally made it through this chunk of a book and what a ride it has been. This, without a doubt, has to be my fave book of the series. I love it so much that I bought it a second time just to scribble in it. 𝚜𝚙𝚘𝚒𝚕𝚎𝚛 𝚏𝚛𝚎𝚎 𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚝 Even before I started this, I had a feeling it would be my fave book because Dalinar is one of my fave characters. This book felt like the world had just opened even further, and I completely sank into it. The character development for most of the group that we've been following was just phenomenal, and oh, the tears I cried. This book, to me, was also the first where the Flashbacks didn't pull me out of the flow. Instead, they felt like long needed explanations. Oathbringer launches us into the real good stuff (that's how I feel anyway) - to me it never felt like it dragged or slowed down too much - I mean yes this is slow paced but it was wonderful! In short: Just read this book series!! 🥹🤣 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 God, the tears I cried for Dalinar. I can't!! Watching him grow and evolve was just the greatest joy. I can not even put into words how much I cried in that sanderlanche. I predicted some of the stuff that did happen, I kind of knew that Dalinar would be perfect for Odium to corrupt, but boi, am I glad he pushed through it. "You can not have my pain" - that quote. It is forever engraved in my mind. However, what I never really saw coming was that the humans were the ones that invaded Roshar! That was a bloody nice twist. Also, I feel robbed of Elokhars Lightweaver journey - which to me had enormous potential! But I am glad to finally see Jasnah be queen, as I predicted from book one she would be. However I also took issue with two things: the fucking love triangle. I was about to write a very angry email to sanderson and tell him to stop this shit, but then it solved itself. It was good that Shallan finally talked about it and stopped it. And her whole personality switching got to a point where I couldn't deal with it anymore. 😅 Could talk more about all of it for hours. 😂

Felt damn goo to re-read Oathbringer ❤️
What to say? Only the book was awesome!!! My favourite part was part 3, not only because there was Wit again (I love him so much), but also I loved how they interacted with each other. I even got nightmares because of Kaladin’s break down during the battle in the castle. And then there was MOASH! You little shit. What is wrong with you? I know you wanted to kill Elhokar but not like this. I loved how Kaladin and Adolin behaved with each other. I did even like Shallan, but I started to cringe as soon she swooned over Kaladin, like, why girl? Also I don’t buy it, that she’s really in love with Adolin because we never really got her feelings for him? (Maybe I just missed it that could be too.) Yes, I know I’m mostly alone with this opinion but I still ship Kaladin with Adolin (don’t judge me). I mean they have both so much chemistry and if I don’t knew it better the book felt like until part 4 how Kaladin felt in love with Adolin... (Okay I’ll stop it here, please pretend you never read about my shipper heart, thanks.) Anyway, I just so happy that the silly love triangle is finally over. We know this book is awesome and everything but there was some stuff I didn’t like: - Ehm we all know Adolin killed Sadeas and I thought it would turn into interesting drama and stuff, but nothing? Absolutely nothing? It was disappointing. - Love triangle – I don’t say more - Sometimes the politic stuff was really hard to read because I didn’t find it quite interesting I absolutely loved: - Bridge 4 – Gosh I love them and they love Kaladin and everything is just beautiful - WIT / HOID - The last 200 pages, gosh was this battle epic - Oh remember that one woman who rolled her eyes at Adolin and Shallan? I sadly forgot her name but same, my girl, same. I’m sure I forgot a lot of things to mention (maybe I should start taking some notes during reading), but I really love this series and I hope it will stay awesome.

look: especially the last 300 pages were EXTREMELY good, heartbreaker, i loved this book, but for over 1200 pages that's not enough for 5 stars. part of me doesn't know whether i would've rated it better if i read it at another time of the year or not but it is what it is
There are no words capable of describing this experience Most importantly how dare you Brandon? Especially chapters I-3, 37, 43, 75, 76, 84, 91, 94(!), 100(!!!), 117, 118(!!), 119!!!!!, 120(!) are terrible and perfect and awful I love Dalinar so much I will start crying just thinking about him I have approximately 150 quotes marked and I can’t choose any favorites I want to put here… I just keep thinking of more and more and more But still I need to write down some of them 5/8 are about Dalinar and that truly says it all “I used to take the terrible things that happened to me, as proof that there was no god. Then in some of my darkest moments, I took my life as proof there must be something up there, for only intentional cruelty could offer an explanation” “But storms, it was either this or start killing again.” “The only honest officer in the army, the honorable soldier. Noble, like the Heralds themselves. Our father. The greatest man in Alethkar” “The most important step a man can take. It’s not the first one, is it. It’s the next one. Always the next step, Dalinar” “You cannot have my pain” “Maybe you don’t have to save anyone, Kaladin. Maybe it’s time for someone to save you “I will protect those I hate. Even….even if the one I hate most…is myself” “I forgive you”
Shakadolin hat mich emotional sehr gestresst. Generell war das alles sehr emotional stressig. But I loved the Angst and everything about this book!!!!
