(slow burn) love these characters & backstory Looking for a new series to read, I can across this first book as part of the Harlequin Crew series, and I decided, “why not?” Jumping in with both feet, I immediately came to love Rogue, the snarky FMC. She doesn’t take shit from anyone and keeps those around her on their toes. Enter the Harlequin boys from her past and *swoon* they are hot. The past between them makes it a rocky reunion and everyone seems to have varying levels of trust issues with Rogue’s return to town. I found this to be a slow burn, and technically after the first book ends, it still is in away. The backstory is well developed and really rips your heart out for all of the characters for the feelings they have bottled up from 10 years ago when Rogue was forced to leave town. It is the premise of this first book and while I was yelling to Rogue, “JUST SHUT UP AND LET HIM LOVE YOU!” several times, I am glad the authors had us wait because I feel like the HEA (at some point!) will be worth the wait when we get there. Can’t wait to see where book 2 leads us and the twists I’m sure will be coming with the continuance of the story! Ps Shame on you, Chase! Ugh!!
