Check out my Blog at Blattzirkus This is the second tiny review of my three part series of the newly published Harry Potter eBook short stories. If you haven’t read my first review, Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies, you can check it out here. Plot This is the second installment of the Pottermore Presents short stories series. It includes texts about Dolores Umbridge, Horace Slughorn, Quirinus Quirrell and Silvanus Kettleburn. Apart from that part the eBook includes a list of all wizard ministers and a short description of their doings, including their time being in office. This eBook also follows the same pattern as the last one. After every described person, there is information about places or objects that form a connection. Just as Umbridge stands in connection with Azkaban, the Ministry of Magic and the Ministers themselves (she worked at the Ministry of Magic after all and tried her best to influence the current Ministers of Magic). Slughorn stands in connection with polyjuice potion since Slughorn not only thaught potions but is as well one of the best potion masters. And only the best are able to accomplish a polyjuice potion. Last but not least Peeves the Poltergeist got some backstory! Sometimes I forget that he exists, thank you films. My Opinion I like the way how J.K.Rowling links the information to each other to make this collection of short stories flow as smooth as possible. Not to mention that you still feel so set back to the good, old Harry Potter days. 2016 is an equally good as bad year for the Potterhead family. I even liked the story of UMBRIDGE (ugh that woman) and Slughorn who weirdly never occured to me as being that important to the Harry Potter saga (believe me, he is!). The writing is smooth and I learned more about the Potter universe, which can never be bad. So you better give every character a chance, even the bad ones (or especially the bad ones?) because everyone got an interesting backstory! Conclusion So naturally I give Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists by J.K.Rowling 5 out of 5 stars. xo Annina
