Beschreibung

Can two drastically different, imperfect people be perfect for each other? It’s been four months since Gray and Dylan have seen each other. Dylan’s been traveling in Europe, while Gray has college, baseball, and a life rooted in one place. Gray’s determined to forget Dylan, the girl he fell in love with in FIRST COMES LOVE. Besides, how do you make a relationship work with an independent loner? Just when he decides he’s over her, Dylan makes an unexpected entrance back into his life, hoping their steamy romance can start right where it left off. Gray realizes you can tell your mind to do one thing, but you can’t always convince your heart to follow. Dylan realizes she finally has to make a choice between freedom and her relationship with Gray. Hilarious, intense, inspiring, and emotional, SECOND CHANCE shows that love is a journey, and there are never clear road signs or maps to guide you along. You can only navigate with your heart.

Really? That ending? Oh gosh... you serious? I read the second book for nothing. And I'm gonna read the third book soon, but the title is the biggest spoiler ever... One star for the cover The second star for Katie Kacvinsky because I love her. :D But the book was annoying.

I've just read the first book in the series about the two teenagers Dylan and Gray in German and when I found out that there is a sequel to it I was a little bit confused at first because I thought that there actually was no need for a sequel to this story but then I was too eager to know what Dylan and Gray are experiencing in this book...well, my first thought was right. There was no NEED for a sequel. Dylan tried to find herself in Europe but after making a bad experience she realizes that she already found a big part of being her in her love to Gray and so she decides to go back home to the US and surprise Gray, but it isn't that easy. He is hurt by not having heard anything from her for months and she tries to fit in Grays life... Actually nothing new happens - being different but still in love is a big topic again as it was in the first book, the same with changing other people's lives and being someone unique. But I missed the freshness and creativity in these ideas that I liked so much in the first book. It's just a back and forth of love and being yourself and nothing exactly made me think "Oh yeah, I really needed this 'Second chance'". Plus, there were some mistakes in it - not only double words and such things but also content related ones (FYI, the Aegean coast is nowhere close to Italy!) If it wasn't for a few smart expressions I would have only given the book two stars. I especially liked: "But, how far do you go for love? How much of your life do you give up for a single person? And how much do you let yourself change? When you stop being yourself, who will you become?" And: "Count your blessings. You have your health and your wisdom and all your teeth." Katie Kacvinsky already announces a third book "Finally, Forever" but I don't know if I'm going to read it after I've found this one quite disappointing.
