I was really excited to start this Trilogy and let me tell you: I was not disappointed! The writing was very nice, I had no problems reading the book and was hooked from page One. It started with a lot of action but it still was easy to catch up and it stayed exciting. I really liked Kyra, how she cares about her sister and her nephew, her strength to overcome or endure tough situations and her sharp tongue when it comes to Jadox or people in general. Jadox took some time to get accustomed to but in the end I kind of liked him. I am still not sure if I really do, or if I am rooting for someone else even though I have no idea why. The displayed world was really interesting. I liked how everything changed in the beginning of the book and how it escalated so quickly. Also, that a world without men is not as perfect as it could have been displayed was a clever trick from the author. It showed that women can be as cruel and radical as men. The creatures were my little highlights. I adored Goldie and I hope to learn more about this part of the world in the following books. To be honest, I did not completely feel the love story but as it is the start of a Trilogy, I have no doubt that this changes. Additionally, there will be some tension in the development of the love story because of Isaac, which I am very excited about. I was quite shocked with the development in the relationship of the sisters, but I have to say that it gave an edge which I really appreciated. As a conclusion, I quite liked the book. It was an intense read and I am looking forward to the following books.
