Beschreibung

Do space and time truly exist? What is reality made of? Can we understand its deep texture?
Scientist Carlo Rovelli has spent his whole life exploring these questions and pushing the boundaries of what we know. In this mind-expanding book, he shows how our understanding of reality has changed throughout centuries, from Democritus to loop quantum gravity. Taking us on a wondrous journey, he invites us to imagine a whole new world where black holes are waiting to explode, spacetime is made up of grains, and infinity does not exist -- a vast universe still largely undiscovered.

This book is written beautifully, highlighting the wonders that theoretical physics and quantum theory is gifting us and the enthusiasm and curiosity of the author is contagious. Having said that, I felt that some few ideas weren't explained in the most intuitive way for me personally. I am aware however, that some theories and ideas discussed in this book are incredibly complex and would potentially need a background in physics, chemistry and/or maths to actually understand everything in detail. And actually, some of the ideas discussed in this book are still confused and not very well formulated so possibly they aren't able to be understood completely - yet. Overall a very interesting and enjoyable read, leaving me amazed with the world and science! Definitely keen to do some more research and excited to have gained a new perspective to be looking at the world with.
