Romantasy, Mystery and Perfume 🥀
I adored the main characters. A perfumer as a protagonist was a new one for me but give me Grace over ten other sword wielding heroines I already read about a hundred times. Also I looooved all the scent descriptions and perfumer work stuff she kept thinking about. The budding romance between her and Stephen is so so sweet and really just how all romance should be written. And it got even better the more their relationship developed. The Slow burn killed me but was very sweet at the same time and done so well. The banter between Stephen and Istvan was hilariously funny. The relationship between the Paladins in general was so wholesome. There was a perfect balance between romance and mystery. And the dry humour throughout the book is just glorious.
This is such a comfort read!
A Paladin that knits pink socks, a relatable struggling Parfum maker, an adorable stinky companion, some mystery, some violence and add a hint of spice. This was just the perfect read for me! As always with Kingfisher books, the characters were really well written, the story feels unique and it’s the perfect mix between spooky and cozy. I absolutely can’t wait to read the other books from this series!
Light romance with some action and mystery.
Another kingfisher book and she got her method down. The setup is so incredibly similar to the story of swordheart, but i cant hate it since its in the same universe. Another love story with the perfumer grace as the protagonist which is in itself an amazing vocation to explore. A killer on the lose which sets up the follow up books perfectly and the hate relationship to the motherhood that is all too real with the provided depictions. If you look for a lovable universe with lovable characters i believe you've come to the right place.

Das Buch hat mir sooo gut gefallen. Perfekter erster Titel, um in Kingfishers Schreibstil reinzukommen. Ich habe aber aktuell so viele Bücher vor mir liegen, dass ich erstmal Bücher von anderen Autorinnen weiterlese. Trotzdem 10/10 :)

Wieder einmal ein, meiner Meinung nach, ein absolut geniales Buch von T. Kingfisher. Absolut toller Humor, liebenswerte Charaktere und eine Geschichte die gleichzeitig spannend und cozy ist.

[REREAD] 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 Ich liebe die Charaktere aus dem Temple of the White Rat und nachdem ich jetzt beim Reread auch die anderen Bücher aus dieser Welt kenne, habe ich es noch mehr genossen als bei meinem ersten Read. Grace und Stephen sind einfach fantastische Charaktere und so herrlich unbeholfen miteinander, dass es beinahe zu viele lustige Dialoge gibt. Dazu noch die etwas düsteren Nebenplots mit dem vergifteten Prinzen und dem Serienmörder sind einfach eine perfekte Mischung.
