Worum geht's? 📖 Rosie liebt Liebesromane und möchte Autorin werden. Dafür besucht sie Kreatives Schreiben in New York. Dort ist der attraktive, aber lästige Aiden für den nur gehobene Literatur zählt. Die zwei geraten in jeder Stunde aneinander. Als Strafe müssen sie zusammen ein Buch schreiben. Dabei scheinen nicht nur die Romanfiguren Gefühle für einander zu bekommen ... Enemies to Lovers 😍 lieben wir natürlich sehr. Der Schreibstil super easy und flüssig. Ich hab das Buch fast in einem Rutsch gelesen und viel mit Rosie und Aiden gelacht. Dieses Buch hatte einfach alles - eine tolle Story, super Charaktere (die nicht immer liebenswert waren), aber sie haben sich wie richtige Personen angefühlt. Schnapp dir das Buch für die Ferien oder kuschel dich mit einer heißen Tasse Tee aufs Sofa, du wirst es nicht aus der Hand legen können bis du weißt wie es mit Aiden und Rosie weitergeht.

Not in my book tells the story of Rosie and Aiden, two rival writing students that live to compete each other. Until it explodes… and they‘re forced to write a romance litfic together. It’s a real adventure for them and also for us! And I love every single page. Rosie is a fully romantic chaotic person, while Aiden is a cynic and introvert that usually keeps behind his rationalism. With Rosie there is no chance for him to keep rational though - with her openness and her heart on het tongue she just gets him. And also Rosie realizes fast that this assholery is much more loveable than initially thought. 🤭 This debut romance novel is such a good and well-written peace of literature that romance is more than just a happily ever after and that being honest and vulnerable is important to grow. Being in a relationship is a two-way street and both parts needs to be invested. Looking for an honest, romantic but also funny and clever book? This is your choice! ❤️
Mir fällt es schwer zu glauben, dass es wirklich ihr Debut ist! Das Buch vereint alles, was ich an solchen Romance Büchern liebe. Das Geplänkel zwischen den beiden war großartig. Hab ständig vor mich hin gegrinst und klar, manchmal war es etwas zu kitschig, aber dennoch eine super liebe Lovestory. Ich war so vertieft ins Lesen, dass ich's fast an einem Tag komplett durchgelesen habe. Die Protagonistin Rosie war sehr sympathisch und liebenswert. Sie ist fürsorglich und klug, und sie hat den Mut gehabt, einen neuen Weg für ihre Zukunft einzuschlagen. Besonders cool fand ich auch, dass sie peruanische Wurzeln hatte! Und der Spice war schön spicy 🌶️ Insgesamt ein erfrischendes und aufregendes Debütbuch! Bin gespannt auf weitere Bücher von ihr, die werd ich auf jeden Fall auch lesen!

I cannot believe that this is a debut novel, because Katie Holt can definitely keep up with the big players in the romance genre! This book had all the elements that I am looking for in a contemporary romance. The banter between Aiden and Rosie was perfection . Their tension was through the roof from the first page and continued to hook me throughout the whole story. I LOVED the idea to make them communicate through writing and I fear Aiden Huntington is my new standard when it comes to book boyfriends. The way this man is respectful and thoughtful in the streets but an outright menace in the sheets had me swooning more than one time. The side characters also felt like a great addition to the story and all had their own quirks and backstories that really made this whole world feel alive. My only critique for this would be that sometimes I couldn't quite follow Rosie in her reasonings for certain actions. Her struggles definitely helped to make her a complex and relatable character, but some of her actions felt forced and almost like a tool that the author had to add for the plot to keep moving forward. She is supposed to be this big hopeless romantic that was fundamentally shaped as a person by everything that has to do with big and romantic gestures, but when she encounters these in real life, she doesn't believe in them or shys away? This didn't quite fit into my view of Rosie as a character. Overall this book was a fantastic read and a big recommendation for anyone that loves a good rivals to lovers story, opposites attract, great banter, angst, tension, really sexy spice, a complex and relatable sunshine FMC and the broody dark haired MMC.
