Beschreibung

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Douglas comes the thrilling, final installment in the Devil’s Night series…What happens when it's five against one and nowhere to run? EMORY They call it Blackchurch. A secluded mansion in a remote, undisclosed location where the wealthy and powerful send their misbehaving sons to cool off away from prying eyes. Will Grayson has always been an animal, though. Reckless, wild, and someone who was never bound by a single rule other than to do exactly what he wanted. There was no way his grandfather was going risk him humiliating the family again. Not that the last time was entirely his fault. He might’ve enjoyed backing me into corners in high school when no one was looking, so they wouldn’t catch on that Mr. Popular actually wanted a piece of that quiet, little nerd he loved to torture so much, but…He could also be warm. And fierce in keeping me safe. The truth is… He has a right to hate me. It’s all my fault. Everything. Devils Night. The videos. The arrests. I’m to blame for all of it. WILL I never minded being locked up. I learned a long time ago that being treated like an animal gives you permission to act like one. No one has ever looked at me any other way. Their only mistake is believing anything I do is an accident. I can sit in this house with no Internet, television, liquor, or girls, but I’ll come out of here with something far more frightening to my enemies. A plan. And a new pack of wolves. I just didn’t expect one of my enemies to come to me. I don’t know who smuggled her in or if they meant to leave her here, but I can smell her hiding in the house. She’s here. And as the security detail leaves the supplies, the gates close, and the door to my gilded cage opens, giving me free reign of the house and grounds for another unsupervised month, I remember with a smile… Blackchurch houses five prisoners. I’m only one of her problems.*Nightfall is a full-length, romantic suspense suitable for readers 18+. It’s necessary to read the prior installments in the series before starting this story.

Nightfall - Penelope Douglas

Before I get into my rant I have to say I'm a huge fan of the writer's other books and series. She's an amazing writer and I loved her fall away series and standalones. That being said I have to admit this book didn't do it for me. I'll make it quick: Things I've liked: — Emory and will's relationship in the past chapters. Very well written and beautiful. Emory is an amazing character in the past chapters. I loved reading about how she deals with Martin. Loved Will in past chapters too. I placex him with Damon as my second faves after Kai. — Aydir. Amazing dude. — the writing style. Things I've disliked: — The endless threesoms and orgies. They are all horny we get it. Did I really have to read it in almost every chapter? At this point I just skipped it bc it's not important to the story. The writer just wants to live out their fantasy. Also don't get me started on the timings of those orgies. It was so unnecessary and ridiculous to read. I was rolling my eyes the Whole. Damn. Time. — Alex was annoying. I knew she'd be annoying why else have her there as the other woman. Her and present will sit on their high horse and you really wonder why you liked her in previous books. – Aydir and Alex not getting their own book which is why the writer forced them into this book making will and Emory secondary characters in their own book. Alex is an idiot for ruining it for herself with Aydir in the beginning and I really couldn't wait for her parts to be over because no matter how much I tried I just couldn't bring myself to like her or understand her. — When Will told Em they set fire to rika's house because they THOUGHT she sent them to prison. Well. What can I say? I hated the first book and stuck around for Kai and Damon actually but this really bothered me. Like no one, literally no one, told you to be a Neanderthal and go seek out revenge on a woman, kidnap her family, burn down her house and assault her. What kind of normal person does this? Ridiculous. — the romance between Will and Emory in the present chapters aren't as good as they should be. It was Overshadowed by an annoying Alex, the Alex x Aydir storyline, and the 12 different sex scenes. I didn't buy their romance in the last part of the book or when they got married. It was so cringy to me but I forced myself through it. — Did I mention all the sex scenes? I think I did but it was so annoying I have to mention it again. Was that really necessary? I'm definitely not a prude and I enjoy smut a lot but this was too much. Alex and Emory were fighting and two seconds later they were sleeping with each other. Please make it make sense. The sex scenes didn't help the plot at all. They were just there for a horny writer and her horny readers. — Rika. Yeah. Just Rika. The book was a disappointment and I would have liked it more if the writer didn't include half of the sex scenes and cut out some of Alex's annoying parts.

Charaktere machen sehr sehr viel Drama . Vieles wäre vermeidbar gewesen. Dennoch spannend.
