worth reading
I've read it after watching the netflix series and it helped me to better understand the backgrounds and the characters, even though it's a little bit different than the series. I'd loved it if the series were exactly the same as the book. In the series I was more into Team Alex, the book made me definitely to Team Cole. I liked the book, but sometimes it was a bit boring.
Es war ein gutes Buch die Spannung zwischen den Hauptrollen hat mir gefallen. Freue mich schon auf die Serie.
not bad for an og wattpad book
When I received this book as a review copy I was actually pretty excited. I didn't know much about the story to be honest I only knew that it's about a girl who has to move from New York to Colorado to live there with her new foster family on a ranch. Honestly this got me really excited because I just love Wild West/Cowboy stories and such and I thought that it would be a cute lovestory McLeod's Daughters style. It wasn't. My life with the Walter boys is actually one of the worst books I've ever read in my entire life. Okay before I write this review I just want to point out that this my personal opinion and I don't mean to be mean or anything and I absolutely don't want to offend anyone. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who actually like the book but I don't. So let's get to it: I just found out that this was originally a story on wattpad and got published due to its popularity. Honestly? I have no idea why this story is published, I mean I'm sure there are so many other stories out there, better stories just waiting to get published so why would you publish a book like that? I basically hated every single detail in this book. The major reason why I didn't like the book is that the whole story just seemed so superficial. The author mentions almost every second page that all of the eleven Walter boys are incredibly goodlooking with amazing abs. She described basically every single one of the eleven boys like a 20 year old Brad Pitt. How does a 16 year old even get such "incredible abs" without even going to the gym? And why the hell is it necesarry to mention it like every five or so pages? WHY? It's not all about looks, duuuh. This really annoyed the hell out of me I mean how often do you need to tell your readers that the male characters in your book look like gods? I can't even tell you how much I hated that. Yeah I mean it's great that you have abs and look like Brad Pitt Junior or whatever but that doesn't make you a great character especially if you lack personality. All characters, especially Jackie, seemed like they had absolutely no feelings. I didn't feel anything but bored and annoyed while I was reading the book. I hated Jackie, she's hands down one of the most annoying book characters ever. She has absolutely no personality. All she thinks about are her expensive clothes, her grades and whatever. She doesn't care about anything or anyone else but herself. She's selfish and annoying, naive as hell and sooooo dumb. The same with Cole and Alex and whoever. There are so many characters in this book it was so hard to keep track of who is who. I mean there are 11 boys who pretty much look all the same how am I supposed to tell who Nathan is? Or Alex? Or Lee? Except for maybe that Alex isn't as much of a jerk as Cole for example. Yeah I do know who Cole is because he's got the most amazing abs ever and who could forget that? If someone would have paid me like a dollar each time the author mentioned word like sexy, hot, muscles, abs, good looking or whatever I would have been rich by the end of the book. This book basically has absolutely no plot. Sure it's about Jackie who's lost her family in an awful accident and has to move to Colorado to live with her new family where she meets new people, where she has to go to a new school and whatever but that's basically it. I can't even remember all the things that happend because most of them were soo not interesting and stupid and some things didn't even make sense and sometimes the dialogues were just horrible. This book is just so full of drama sometimes I even laughed because I couldn't believe anybody would ever do or say anything similar in real life. This book is wrapped up in so many mindless cliches, it just pissed me of. The story basically implies that no matter how mean or awful a guy is to you, as long as he is hot with amazing abs it's okay to fall for him and let him treat you like shit. This is soooo stupid and I really wonder why anyone would write something like that. It's soo awful I hated it. I also didn't like the writing - like AT ALL. It was just all so emotionless; without any feelings. I don't even know what else to say. I hated the book. The only thing I liked about it was that New York was mentioned a couple of times and since I love New York that always made me kinda happy at least for a second. Maybe I'm just getting too old for these books but then again even when I was 16 I hated stories like that. If you've read the book and liked it, please explain to me why. I just don't get how this could be anyones favorite book. Please what did I miss?
Liked this one a lot - even more than the Netflix show. Huge Family with lots of boys and chaos and a girl who lost her whole family and has to start over in the middle of nowhere. Perfect mix 😍
Loved the characters even after watching the TV Show first. Funny and couldnt Put the book down.
