It follows a summer fling between two teenage neighbors, Samantha Reed and Jase Garrett. Coming from very different familial and economic backgrounds, they carry out their relationship in secret after Samantha's mother forbids her from associating with Jase's family.
I enjoyed it!! It was definitely very sweet. Samantha and Jase really have a healthy relationship and I liked reading it. Not much to say to be honest hahah

I bought this book in 2013 and totally forgot about it, because YA happend to get less interesting to me. I finally got around to read My Life Next Door and I'm so in love with this book. It wasn't exactly what I thought it would be, but it left me awwwwing for several reasons, including: - Tim!! If I had to choose my overall favorite character in that book, it'd be him for sure. - The Garrett-Family, especially Jase (I'll hope to find my real life Jase for the next couple of weeks) and George. But the whole family was awesome. - Sam and the fact that, even though she was one of those perfect looking characters that has everything and gets everything, she was a really likable person. - Jase' and Sam's relationship. Very refreshing, very un-stereotypical and real. It was just awesome and, as I already said, I'll be looking for my real life Jase, because even though I'm way older than him, I'd marry him without second thought.
It was an okay read for me, I guess. Nice, fluffy romance and I have to admit I couldn't help but fall in the love with the next door family. BUT, yeah only 3 stars have to have a reason right? I thought Samantha was a very one dimensional character: no real friends but one; fine with being bullied by her mom; no interests in anything other than working, even if she didn't have to. I just didn't get her. Actually, to be honest, Jase was a flat character too. He is one of the good guys and his family is brilliant. Other than that? Nothing much happens with him. Anyways... I liked the "plot twist" (you'll get what I mean once you've read it), but the resolving was weak. All in all: an okay book.
