From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Giver of Stars and the forthcoming Someone Else's Shoes, discover the love story that captured over 20 million hearts in Me Before You, After You, and Still Me.

They had nothing in common until love gave them everything to lose . . .

Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has barely been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex–Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.

Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.

A Love Story for this generation and perfect for fans of John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars, Me Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?

forever my favorite book to ever be written

5

I do not even know how I should start this review. I was kind of pressured into reading this by my sister, because she loves this authr and everything she ever wrote. I usually do not read such book, drama and romace stuff, but since the movie is comming out soon (And Sam is in the movie), I decided to read it anyway. I did read one book by this author already, which I did really enjoy, but this book was just breathtaking. This book talks about a topic that I usually do nowt really think or read about. Somehow I feel like suicide is a topic that you do not think of if it doesn't affect you directly. But clearly, reading a book about it was something new for me, but I feel like it's important to takl about these things. Not all romances are pretty with flowers on top. That is just not how life works, and this book reminded me of that. Although I knew where the story was going and I knew how it would end (thanks Tumblr for the spoiler), I really highly enjoyed this book. Sometimes, when you know the end of a book it doesn't even make sense to read the whole thing, but the author tells this story in such an honest and unique way, that I do not regret reading one single page. I enjoyed every single thing, every single line. But this novel also sheds light on disabled people, and how they kind of see the world. It doesn't sugarcoat anything, it just shows you the hard truth. A truth so many people face everyday. One thing that stood out to me were the characters. Everyone was so unique in their own way, which is fantastic. I always look at the characters more than I look at the story, so this book was a real pleasure. Will reminded me so much of Jace from The Mortal Instruments, and I loved him even more for that. But also Lou was special in her own way (and I do not only mean her very ... unique sense of fashion.) Her character development was amazing. But also the side-characters, who often come too short in romance novels in my opinion, were not one-sided. It felt like they were real humans, with real problems and real feelings. It was fantastic. However, this is one of these books, where after I finished it I just sit there and do not know what to do with my life for a few moments. I lived with these characters, I laughed with them, cried with them, and now they are gone? BUT WAIT, you might say, THERE IS A SEQUEL. Yes, I do know that. But do I want to read it right now? Do I want to move on? Do I want a book where I again have to face the innevitable? I don't think I am ready for this yet. Not after all we have been through, Will. *distant sobbing* Well, we know that Will did it. We know that he died. How can I read a book now, without him, still stuck in this world where he lives and everything is fine? From page one on I wanted to be wrong. I wanted that he lives, that the person who spoiled me was joking. But the coldblooded truth says something else. I could not read a book without Will, that is impossible for now. Maybe I will come back to the sequel sometime, but I highly doubt it. I do not see a sense in continuing. I know that a lot of people do not read this book because "It is not their genre". It isn't my genre either, but do yourself a favour and try it, read it, tell me about it. I would love to hear your thoughts too! 5/5 stars
