Thomas und Aiden haben endlich ihr Happy End!🏳️‍🌈❤️ Thomas Kindheit und wie seine Familie umgebracht wurde, war sehr krass. Eine schöner Abschluss der Reihe. 🥰

The final Mulvany couple

Omg, I am so happy this didn't disappoint 😂 Their relationship was teased since volume 2, and now they are finally together after 20+ years of pining! Loved them as a couple, and the story was also interesting since it was about Thomas' past. But starting from the beginning. This is about Thomas, who is the adoptive father of our merry family of psychopath vigilantes, and Aiden, who was once also one of the children he adopted. So we are entering a bit of a taboo topic here, but it isn't that crazy if you look at the whole scenario. Thomas and Aiden meet when Aiden is 16 and Thomas 30. Due to specific circumstances, Aiden can't stay with his family and would be a good addition to Thomas' project (even though he isn't a psychopath). So, he lives with Thomas and his kids for a few years before going to college (they never saw each other as father/son). When he comes back, feelings arise, but of course, Thomas denies him, Aiden distances himself from the family, gets the adoption dissolved, and they don't have much contact. Now Aiden is 40, and Thomas 54. So I think their relationship is totally okay. Also, this is the first time reading a romance with characters this old, which was nice 😊 The actual story is about someone blackmailing Thomas with his past. So, he has to open up about that to his family, and of course, Aiden is the first one he calls. Most of the story is actually just him talking to his family and finally getting together with Aiden, but that was great. I loved their arguing. It makes total sense why Aiden is angry at Thomas for constantly rejecting him, even though he knows he feels the same, while Thomas doesn't think he deserves him because he blames himself for the past. The drama 😩 (but in a good way). I just liked that they had a real conflict, while many other couples didn't (most of them were insta love anyways). Thomas' past was also super interesting (and, of course, traumatic). It was exciting to learn more and think about who could be blackmailing him. The reveal was also good, but that wasn't what I enjoyed about this storyline. It was the coming together of the whole family to catch this guy and keep everyone safe. Love the family moments 🥹 Everyone (really everyone) came, and there were so many funny moments. My favs were probably Adam's jokes about Aiden being promoted to step-dad 😂 Another funny thing that is entirely personal was me imagining Thomas as Reginald Hargreeves... yes, the dad from The Umbrella Academy 😂 I tried to change that, but from the beginning of the series, that was the picture that immediately formed in my head. I mean, they are both eccentric billionaires that adopted 7 children to train them as "vigilantes" (superheroes) 🤷🏻‍♂️ So yeah, I really enjoyed this "last" book. The next will have short stories about them all, and I am excited to revisit some couples. This is also where I will write my opinion on them (maybe even a ranking). The only thing I am not excited about are (and this may be a bit of a spoiler for the epilogue here), the kids. I really don't know why almost all of them have kids now. Besides the fact that I am not a fan of children in love stories, this is really the last series I'd have expected them, and it wasn't a nice surprise. I don't think a house full of killers is the right place to raise kids, and I also don't care about them 😅 So let's just hope they won't play a big role in the additional stories.
