Die Geschichte handelt von einer Fake Dating Beziehung, die aber ganz anders ausgeht als man im ersten Moment denkt. Das hat mir wirklich gut gefallen, da es nicht von Anfang an vorhersehbar ist. Die Charaktere sind außerdem wirklich toll und ich hätte gerne noch mehr Details über sie erfahren. Die weihnachtliche Atmosphäre kommt zudem sehr gut rüber, wodurch es sehr cozy wirklich. Ich kann euch das Buch für eine schöne und etwas andere weihnachtliche Lesezeit definitiv empfehlen.
Die perfekte Romcom für die Feiertage
Ich habe das Buch absolut geliebt. Haf und Christopher hatten ab dem ersten Moment eine tolle Chemie und auch wenn sie ihre Beziehung nur gespielt haben, hat sich zumindest eine ganz wunderbare Freundschaft in der kurzen Zeit entwickelt. Der Schreibtstil war für mich sehr angenehm zu lesen und hat genau meinen Humor getroffen. Keine Ahnung, wie oft ich während des Lesens schmunzeln musste. 😄 Ein großes Thema des Buches ist Repräsentation. Die Charaktere sind nicht nur hinsichtlich ihrer Sexualität divers, sondern auch in Bezug auf ihre geschlechtlichen Identität und Körperformen. Viel zu selten finden vermeintlich nicht normschöne Protagonisten in Büchern statt. Alle Charaktere habe ich sofort ins Herz geschlossen. Ich bin froh, dass ich direkt mit der Fortsetzung weitermachen und mehr Lesezeit mit der Freundesgruppe verbringen kann. Und vielleicht findet Christopher dieses Mal die Liebe.

Make you mine this christmas, is about Haf who meets Christopher at a Party. Haf doesn't know the person who throws the party because she and her roommate Ambrose crashed it. As Christopher and Haf were standing under a mistletoe they shared a drunk kiss. Unfortunately Laurel, Christophers ex-girlfriend, saw them and thought they're dating. She told Christophers family, they invited Haf over for Christmas. Since Haf would've been alone this Christmas anyway she said yes and plays Christophers girlfriend. On her way to the parents she meets this girl at a bookshop (when will I meet someone in the bookshop?🥲) and she started to have this huge crush on her. Turns out the girl she met is Christopher's sister... . Make you mine this Christmas is a sweet jolly book, with the fake dating trope. I fell in love with the character Haf immediately, also we have the same type in men and women. So even Kit is a lesbian, I kinda felt attracted to her. The whole book was just sweet but also a big chaos, because Haf obviously has feelings for Kit but everybody thinks that Haf is dating Kits brother Christopher. I felt the whole chaos in the book, I giggled, I smiled and even had tears in my eyes when Esther, Kit and Christophers mother, threw Haf out as soon as she caught kissing Kit. With Ambrose I had a love - hate relationship. On one side I love their personality but on the other side I hated the Twitter polls they did, which eventually Haf to Christophers ex-girlfriend Laurel. Talking about Laurel, I didn't expect to like her in the book, but the more I read about her the more she grew to me. I also felt sorry for her because of her asshole boyfriend (whose name I even forgot). My favorite character will always be Kit, I mean the sentence she said to Haf in the cupboard oh my... But I also loved the dogs they're amazing. I'm happy that Laurel and Christopher are close friends and talked everything out. I hope that they both find a partner who makes them happy.
War ganz cute, aber mir hat es nicht so viel gegeben. (Und wenn ich noch einmal irgendwas über „Titten“ hätte lesen müssen, wär ich ausgerastet. Ich hätte mir da sehr gerne mal Abwechslung im Wortschatz gewünscht)
