In Magnolia Branch, Mississippi, The Cafferty and Marsden families are practically royalty. Neighbors since the Civil War, the families have shared vacations, holidays, backyard barbecues, and the overwhelming desire to unite their two clans by marriage. This has been a wonderfully cute story. I loved the atmosphere of the southern states and set during a hurricane. The characters were kind of loveable too, though I would have loved to shake them several times to get their stuff together. Guess I have to remind myself more often how I reacted with 17. ;) The writing style was really good to read as well, I was actually flying through the pages.
Von diesem Buch erhoffte ich mir eine lockerleichte Liebesgeschichte mit ein bisschen Drama und großen Gefühlen. All das habe ich bekommen! Die Seiten flogen nur so dahin und ich genoss das Lesen wirklich. Trotzdem habe ich aber etwas zu meckern, denn wie ich finde erfährt man durch den Klappentext deutlich zu viel! Das angekündigte Ereignis beginnt erst ab Seite 100 so dass man auf den vorherigen nur darauf pocht, dass es endlich zu dieser Katastrophe kommt. Das soll jetzt keineswegs heißen, dass die ersten 100 Seiten schlecht sind aber ich finde, dass der große Knall des Buches eben nicht schon im Klappentext angekündigt werden sollte, da der Geschichte so einiges an Spannung genommen wird. Ansonsten ist es aber wirklich ein tolles Buch mit einem wunderschönen Flair, netten, authentischen Charakteren und einer schönen Entwicklung der Geschichte. Definitiv ein Buch welches perfekt in den Sommer passt! 3,5/5 Sterne von mir.
