After accidentally dumping everything in her bag in front of the most attractive man she's ever seen, she arrives at her hotel only to realize she's grabbed the wrong suitcase at the airport. Her only consolation? The contents of the case were very appealing. The owner of this suitcase is Lauras dream man-she's sure of it. Now, all she has to do is find him. It seems like fate. After all, what are the odds that she'd find The One on the same remote island where her mom and dad had first fallen in love, especially as she sets out to write an article about their epic romance? Surly cab driver Ted seems like her best bet in both tracking down the mystery suitcase owner and retracing her parents footsteps. And if beneath Teds gruffness lies a wit that makes their rides strangely entertaining. She realizes that the love story she's held on a pedestal all her life might not have been that perfect-she'll have to rethink her whole outlook on love to discover what she really wants.

Okayyy so this book was definitely better than I expected to be honest!! I liked the writing style and I enjoyed reading it overall and I finished it in 3 days. We have the main character, Laura, who is a journalist and works at Love life and asks people 'How did you meet' during an interview. She wants her own meet-cute and she believes she has found her soulmate after her luggage gets mixed up with a man’s suitcase. The suitcase contains all things that she likes in a man; Phil Collins music, the book 'to kill a mockingbird' , piano sheets, clothes she find attractive in a man etc. . When she gets to Jersey, she finds a cab driver whose name is Ted. He shows her all the places she wanted to see on this work-trip since he knows his way around jersey. He’s not a cab driver fully, he’s actually a surgeon doctor. His dad,Gerry, lives in a house and has a cottage in Jersey and they spend a lot of time there. His dad is moving into a home for elderly people so Teds original plan was to sell the house after putting all the things into boxes and tidying up. Laura doesn’t see Ted romantically at all, just a friend who’s helping her out, and she continues her search after her dream-man. That dream man turns out to be Jasper, the good looking guy from the airport who helped her pick up tampons after they fell out of her bag😭. Jasper is kind and lovely and that’s how Laura finds herself in a love triangle. If I’m being honest I rooted for Ted the whole time idk I just liked him more LMAO, jasper seemed kind and lovely but just very much like a real life Ken doll. The plot twist I honestly didn’t see coming was Jasper and Suki (Laura’s boss) ending up together. If I’m being honest I completely hated Suki, she was SO fucking annoying and fake. I liked the little Jersey family Laura found (Ted,Laura, Sandy (their neighbor), Ilídio (Sandy’s husband), Laura’s aunt Monica and her grandmother Sue,Gerry) !! They were very cute. To be honest I couldn’t handle Laura sometimes; for example when she hid in the closet of Maude (Jaspers Mother) because she wanted to talk to her and get information about Jasper aka her dream soulmate and she continued to stay there AND LISTEN TO MAUDE HAVING SEX WITH SOMEONE. Like girl I was dying of embarrassment😭 you’re a grown ass woman why the hell did you do that💔 ykwim. Anyway, I liked the book, I had fun reading it! Happy that Ted and Laura were endgame.
