In the Hello and in the Goodbye

The book has a lot of heart as well as a lot of angst. I love that it has dual timelines, and it’s clear which timeline we are in for each chapter. I had fun following Colm and Evie's story - how they fell in love, everything that lead to the "break up" and then starting to date again. Communication really is THE key to everything. And there were some surprises I did not expect. Lots of sensitive issues were handled well in this debut book with humor and grace. Each character faces their own realistic obstacles and resolves them thoughtfully. I enjoyed this story filled with complex people who both challenge and support each other. As a person on the spectrum I have to say that i love the autism representation and I think she did a fantastic job of writing a person with autism without being condescending or patronizing. Many people can't write a good representation, but she did a great job doing it ♡. This book is funny but also has a lot of pain, so it made me laugh and feel all the things from page to page!
