I do need all the C-drama and silk punk in my life. And I was eager to dive back into the Celestial Kingdom. Immortal is a standalone in this world, so don't worry if you have not yet read the other books by the author.
The writing style is so very engaging, and it takes about a page or two to get immersed into this lush worldbuilding. There's insta-lust which usually bores me. But in this case I can assure you that it will pay back if you hang on and just let it develop.
