I have never heard about the history of Congo, the Congo Wars or the 2004 refugee camp massacre in Gatumba Burundi, which the author is a survivor of. This story is such a powerful memoir that made me aware of parts of history I never heard of. Sandras story is truly amazing, with what she has achieved now after immigrating to the US 2007. I can recommend the TED talk with Sandra on youtube, if you want to learn more about her and her story.
