I just want to point out that there is a sentence in here where the main character says something like, My family all get our hot coffee then we go out into the car and watch the grass grow. That is why I didn't keep reading this book. I don't want to read a book that describes that as something the characters are doing.

I'm surprised that not many people talk/know about these books, because I immensely enjoyed them; especially this one! I identified with Ben so much, and in a way it helped me a loy to read about a person so much like me.

It’s okay to just say who you are without it being final or something. I mean, none of us are finished products. We change. We keep changing. We won’t be finished products ‘til the day we die. I absolutely adore this book. [b:Openly Straight|16100972|Openly Straight (Openly Straight, #1)|Bill Konigsberg|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1358050824s/16100972.jpg|21911266] was a funny book but Honestly Ben is a bit heavier. Ben is an incredibly interesting character. I didn’t expect to like his POV, but, boy, I was wrong. There is so much character growth happening that you can’t help but fall a little bit in love with him. I constantly highlighted and wrote down various quotes. I loved reading more about the characters we already got to know in Openly Straight and even Toby is now a character I admire for his actions. I can't express all my thoughts for this book in words.
