Oooofff finished at last. I really really didn’t like this book. I liked Mhairi‘s other books, but this one was just bad. The writing wasn’t really enticing - it was neither witty nor charming - and the whole storyline made me so uncomfortable. A fat girl who got bullied in school, loses weight and is pretty (because you know, fat people aren’t pretty *irony off*) and then she meets her high school crush/ bully and slowly falls in love with him. Never was I more disappointed.

It was an okay-read. Didn't flash me but it wasn't 100% bad. I had lots of problems with the book that many others already mentioned. 1. It's boring at several parts Considered dropping it but I just skipped to the important/interesting parts. I probably skipped around 100-120 pages which is sad. 2. The hero is a mess, a selfish person and got away with everything he did way too fast. Maybe I'm just a petty person but what he did to her isn't even bullying anymore its straight up abuse in the worst form. I loved how she stood her ground but then she forgave him so quickly after she told him she wanted to [spoiler] [spoiler]. I don't know how you can forgive a person after something like that. Would have ended his whole career but then again it's a romance book about second chances and some people aren't petty as me. 3. It was stupid of her to not tell him who she was for half of the book. It was really draining and when you remember how much unimportant stuff came up before the reveal its exhausting to read. 4. He only showed interest in her because she was hot. I promise you he wouldn't have shown any interest in her if she was still "fat". This type of man is so full of [redacted]. Even though I didn't want to finish it, I pulled through and gave it two stars for the way she reacted to him when he was being a dick and how she stood her ground but that's the only redeeming aspect of the whole book.
