That town was suffocating me. Closing in on me like the walls of the trash compactor on the Death Star. I made it out just in time to avoid being crushed by the weight of utter normalcy and conformity. Being here feels like breathing after holding my breath my whole life. I'm free. Free to be exactly who I've always wanted to be. It's a quick and easy read with lots of nerdy references and a nice cover. But that's about it. It was just so uncredibly unrealistic. Bex is an intern on set of her favourite TV show. She writes an entire episode, but doesn't get any writing credit after it was used - and rewritten. Her own character, Layla, was straight-washed. Together with her girlfriend and some of the actors, operation"Make it gay!" begins. Every single fight was revolved so quicky. The villain (the showrunner) was like a caricature of Umbridge, and Bex and her friends are like Dumbledore's army. The insta-love between Shrupty and Bex was cute, but happened too fast. The fact that Bex got access to the official Instagram page of the show ON HER FIRST DAY seemed absolutely unrealistic. It felt a bit shallow and the characters, especially Bex, acted very childish. It really felt like a self-insert fanfiction.
