I've been in a month and a half long reading slump and to be honest the books I chose to read coming back into it have impacted me in a strong way. I've been intending to read this book for a long while now but I struggled to pick it up. However, I am super glad I finally got to it. This was a definite 5⭐️ read for me. Harper Lee's writing is so good, the content of the book is also absolutely relevant in the current atmosphere! if there are any people looking to understand how to get past the race privilege this is a book for that. Black people are human too and in order for a society that is colourblind, we must shatter the barriers set up by racial divide in-order to move forward as one. Harper Lee's tackling of the race issue is honestly amazing in that it's not one that is so clear cut but rather requires you to apply your mind as you read and I really love when a book does that. All in all, I'm glad I read the book.
