Entschuldigung mal bitte aber wieso sagt jeder die Folge-Bände seien Sche*ße? Es war phänomenal!🩷🩷🩷 So gut! Empfehle es von ganzen Herzen an Fourth Wing, Divergent und Shatter me Fans 🫶🏻

Slow middle but gripping end

German and English Review German: Mare kämpft nicht nur gegen das System, sondern auch mit sich selbst. Ihre Isolation, ihr Misstrauen und die inneren Konflikte ziehen sich durch das ganze Buch – und machen es emotional intensiv. ⁣ Die Mitte war für mich sehr langatmig – ich musste mich wirklich durch einige Szenen kämpfen. Aber: Gegen Ende nimmt die Spannung richtig Fahrt auf. Das Finale hat für mich alles rausgerissen und mich direkt zum nächsten Band greifen lassen. ⁣ Ein düsterer, zwischendurch zäher, aber am Ende fesselnder zweiter Teil mit starkem Cliffhanger! 🔥 ⁣ English: Mare isn’t just fighting the system—she’s fighting herself. Her isolation, mistrust, and inner conflicts run through the entire book, making it emotionally intense. ⁣ The middle felt really slow for me – I had to push through quite a few scenes. But toward the end, the tension really picks up. The finale totally made up for it and pushed me straight into picking up the next book. ⁣ A dark, at times dragging, but ultimately gripping second installment with a strong cliffhanger! 🔥

UNBEDINGT TRIGGERWARNUNGEN BEACHTEN (Rezension mit Spoiler)

Puh, dieses Buch war leider nicht gut! Typischer 2. Teil einer Reihe - Lückenfüller... Nur das Ende hat wieder alles rausgerissen, vor allem die letzten Sätze! Ich denke der nächste Band wird sehr brutal und interessant. Zu den Charakteren: Mare wird zu einem negativen Charakter und das ist zwar wichtig für die Entwicklung, aber aggressiv hat sie mich trotzdem gemacht. Ich finde Cal war in diesem Teil wie ein Side Character, ich hoffe mehr von ihm in der Zukunft zu sehen. Einen Schockmoment hatte ich. da hätte ich eine Triggerwarnung gebraucht und zwar - Erm***ung eines Babys. Das hatte mir Bauchschmerzen bereitet und mich schockiert. Weitere Trigger: - Waffengewalt - Explosion - Stromschlag 3,5/5 ⭐

3,5 stars would be perfect! That end.. I wasn’t ready for it

I have to admit that I had some difficulties with this book at the beginning. Maybe it was just my lack of motivation, but the first few pages weren't much captivating, so I told myself that I would go slow with it. BUT I didn't need time! Now, that I've read all of it, I must say: Yes, the beginning is a little bit time-consuming but once you're out of that phase, the plot quickens and it's such a joy to follow Mare, Cal and everyone else through shocking events, prison breaks and betrayals. I've not just once had my mouth wide open because you can never tell what's coming next. I'm in love with basically all the characters since book one and I couldn't be happier with their development - good and bad. For the last two weeks I couldn't lay this book down. I JUST HAD TO KNOW MORE. So, do yourself a favour and read it! And if you haven't read the first book of the series, catch up on it! You'll thank me. PS. King's Cage should be delivered today!

Ich muss sagen der zweite Teil hat mir im Gegensatz zum ersten nicht so gut gefallen aber ist halt wichtig um den weiteren Verlauf der Story zu verstehen.. naja mir hat einfach das Leben am Hof besser gefallen als das was in diesem Teil passiert ist.. ich hoffe dass Band 3 wieder besser wird aber bin da guter Dinge da ich ein kleiner Maven Fan bin ✨

Sooo hear me out… the first half i was kinda bored and i literally hated everyone. But as soon as shit started to go down i was hooked. Now to my controversial opinion: I really don’t like Mare. I do understand why she acts the way she does and it fits her character but god I wish she would listen to people that are close to her and not be so stubborn (and I know her action also are trauma response and the fact that she can not deal with her emotions) I don’t know it just makes me mad. Another controversial opinion: I hate Maven for what he did but I wanna see a redemption arc. I don’t think he is the pure evil he seem like. “no one is born a monster”. I think the true evil is his mother and I’m really looking forward to see what happens now that she’s dead. (even tho her death could mean Maven becoming more cruel) I’m just an villains girly what can I say. I kinda like Cal but ah I just wanna see Maven. (maybe I’m just being manipulated by him like they where but whatever). I’m just saying I believe the stuff he said in the first book “bering the shadow of the flame” etc. and again he grew up with Elara being his mother. She probably manipulated him in thinking this way and wanted to make her proud because he loved her I mean it’s his mom. Also I know he hurt Mare by branding her, betraying her and other things but all i could think about was enemy’s to lovers. Also the death of Shade touched me more than I thought and I’m pretty certain Farley is pregnant with their child. And I hope when Mare does find out it will make something with her. Like changing her character a little bit something like that idk. I didn’t like Kilorn and Cal in the beginning of this book but after finishing i kinda like them and their bond. Kilorn was just annoying and Cal idk I can just say again I’m a Maven girly and want his redemption arc. But Cal has his own problems and is complex i really like that and even tho he is conflicted with his morals I like how we got to see more of him interacting with different people. After all I think he has a soft heart and is a sweetly.

Leider muss ich sagen, dass ich erst einmal Ewigkeiten dafür brauchte den zweiten Band zu lesen. Ich habe ihn schon ein paar mal angefangen, aber immer wieder aufgehört, weil der Anfang mich einfach nicht packen konnte. Und es hat auch bei diesem Mal gute 100 Seiten gebraucht bis ich Spaß daran hatte es zu lesen. Vor allem Mare hat sich seit dem ersten Band wirklich sehr verändert. Der Leitspruch "Du kannst niemandem trauen" verfolgt sie Tag und Nacht und ich kann sie dabei vollkommen nachvollziehen. Man erkennt ihren zerstörten Charakter und ihre Furcht vor dem Ungewissen. Aber andererseits wurde sie in diesem Band zu einer richtig guten Antiheldin. Denn auch sie ist skrupellos, egoistisch und zerstörerisch - aber auch etwas kopflos. Teils störte mich ihr Selbstmitleid schon etwas, aber das machte sie damit wett, dass sie auch selbst mit sich unzufrieden war. Die Atmosphäre in diesem Band war durch den nun herrschenden Krieg düsterer und etwas deprimierend. Für Lachen war hier keine Zeit und das teilten die Charaktere dem Leser auch offen mit. Es gab Schuldzuweisungen, Niederlagen und Verluste. Aber vor allem kann man in diesem Band nicht sagen, wer auf der richtigen Seite steht und wem man trauen kann. Ich habe viele Personen ins Herz geschlossen, aber durch die Schreibweise Aveyards bin sogar ich als Leser mir unsicher wem ich trauen kann. Ich mochte die Ausbildung der Newbloods und wie diese aufgespürt und rekrutiert wurden. Das Lesen dieser Passagen und die Beschreibung ihrer Fähigkeiten war spannend und aufregend zu lesen und macht mich auf die weiteren Bände neugierig. Aber vor allem das Ende war dann noch einmal dramatisch und enthielt einen ganz, ganz fiesen Cliffhänger, weshalb ich mich schon sehr auf Band 3 freue. Ich hoffe Mares Denken entwickelt sich noch einmal ins Positive zurück und ich hoffe auch auf weniger langatmige Stellen.

Very good sequel to Red Queen. I probably enjoyed it more than I did the first book as you get to really see what the characters are all about. It was nice to see that the main characters have a dark side and not all 'heroines' are good guys. Although she has the best intentions, Mare is out for herself mostly. I'm really looking forward to see where this is going to go with the last book in the trilogy coming soon. The last two were full of twists that I didn't see coming and kept the pages turning. Hopefully the next one will be just as great.
