Was will man mehr?

Trigger warnings are mentioned at the end of this review and may contain spoilers. I think we can all agree that this book is FULL of diverse representation. There's Chloe, our black female main character, who lives with chronic illness and pain and who is (to say it in Reds words) BADASS. She wants to change her life to be more exciting. And then there's Red, who has tattoos and long red hair and a motorcycle. He is sensitive but confident and struggels with his place in life and his future career. And there's the relationship between those two - I won't say more about it - AND IT ALL STARTED WITH A CAT SO GO READ IT. In addition I'll mention some other great representation about the characters, which might be a slight spoiler: Finally a book that talks about abusive behavior towards grown men and the consequences for their mental health! Of course I also appreciated how Chloe struggels with trust due to her past, but I think that especially the mental health of men isn't talked about enough in literature. I loved the characters and the relationship and the sexual tension. My only complain is this very typical plot point of romance and contemporary novels which always happens at 75% of the book to make it more...suspenseful?! I think you can guess what it is. But it didn't bother me much in the end because it at least didn't occur out of nowhere. ~4.25 Trigger warnings: descriptions of an abusive relationship in the past of one character
Jetzt schon ein Highlight von 2023!!!
