Beschreibung

When falling in love is the punchline...Farley Jones is being forced to date Meyer Harrigan, the man she has come to love, in order to make all of her stand-up dreams come true. It's agony- a tragedy, even. In lieu of flowers, please send cash...Meyer and his daughter Hazel have been everything to her since they came into her life three years ago. So, all joking aside, the stakes are especially high when it's not only her career, but both of those relationships on the line.A former stand-up star himself, Meyer has been vital to the trajectory of her career since he began managing her... Since he became her closest and most treasured friend, in the process. This friendship is the only reason why, when the biggest opportunity of Farley's career includes thrusting him back into the spotlight to stir up publicity, he agrees- in spite of his grumpiness, his protectiveness over Hazel, and his disdain for public attention. It doesn't take long for their act to bring all those other funny feelings out into the open, and, like most matters of the heart, it quickly begins to feel like anything but a joke.Funny Feelings is a swoony story about friendship, love, and looking for the laugh in life. It touches on the creative spirit and all that comes with sharing that gift, and how oftentimes the comedians in our lives are the most sensitive, or struggling. It features two friends, one incredible little girl, and a kaleidoscope of feelings along the way.

Loved the dedication & the autors note ♡. Feelgood book for in between, relaxing read with interesting love story.

3.5

Love it.

Comfy read 📖☕️

3,5 ⭐️ This is was such a cute, easy read. I mainly picked this book because of the dedication and that's why I maybe felt let down the tiniest bit. (I will get into this later) Overall I really enjoyed this book. It was fast-paced, engaging and the epilogue was way too cute. Literally, that's how you write an epilogue! Also I really loved Hazel, the MMC's daughter.I would totally recommend the book if you are looking for a palate cleanser that's gonna put a smile on your face. Now I am gonna nit-pick, because this is ulitmatley what led to my 3,5 rating: I was hoping we are gonna see an FMC that unabashedly is herself, which she is for most of the book. But I didn't like that the MMC came to patch her insecurities. She at some point really spirals thinking she is unlovable and how could this "hot, amazing, funny man ever love ME?". And then she is immediatly fine after the MMC says she's hot and great or whatever. This is a pet-peeve of mine but I want the FMC to realize she is worthy of love internally, not because a man tells her she is. Another thing that led to this rating is that the book tried just a bit to hard. We have best-friends-to-lovers, which is executed poorly because they say they are best friends but I didn't feel it. Then there is the fake dating, which is honestly SOOO uncessarry. Lastly, there is too much going on in general, like the comedy tour and then they end up at other events for some reason? Some parts were just confusing to me. The lower part of the review is why this Funny Feelings doesn't get a higher rating, but I still think very postively about the book and liked reading it
