Description

A gorgeous special edition hardcover with a foreword from E L James.

"And in this quiet moment as I close my eyes, spent and sated, I think I'm in the eye of the storm. And in spite of all he's said, and what he hasn't said, I don't think I have ever been so happy."

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana's quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too?but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey's singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success - his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family - Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey's secrets and explores her own dark desires.

First of all who thinks this is romantic? Second of all no it was not rape. Third of all it is not worth the hype. I will start with the things I didn't like in the book 1) The writing style 2) The characters- for someone like Ana, isn't she a bad ass? I don't think someone could resist her and she was so low on self esteem with that kind of come backs. UH NO. 3) Vocabulary? HOLY!? number of times that word has been used 4) Repetitive sex scenes, lack of imagination- bored me to death and what the hell fuck your mouth? 5) Mr Grey you creep me out on so many levels, not romantic at all. 6) Jose, sweetheart you are her brother! 7) Kate, are you my pop up character? What i liked in the book? THE EMAIL CONVERSATION, I think by the end of this ok i only enjoyed those and the subjects and was basically skipping and reading them only. I do not recommend this book, maybe to those - WHO DO NOT DO ROMANCE ;)

Uh, I wanted to shout at Anastasia for her naivety and to the author for her poor writing style and the repetition of the same phrases over and over again...throughout the whole trilogy. Nevertheless, it has to be said that the first book is worst, in the second and third it gets a little better and there's at least a story line there then.
