To find a tribe of unique, supportive women and girls who will lift you up, not put you down, and support them in return. Never be afraid of failure, but pursue your goals with the firm belief that you are capable of doing anything you set your mind to doing. After all, if we are to live in a truly equitable world, wo women and girls need to work together, pursue our dreams and shine until our light cannot be ignored. - Maryam and Nivaal Rehman I was SO excited to read this book because so many amazing women contributed a piece of writing! My two favourites were the ones written by Evanna Lynch and Jameela Jamil. I wholeheartedly agree with Jamil that feminism isn’t just for women and that we have to include boys and men as well. The book is separated into Epiphany, Anger, Joy, Poetry Break, Action, Education and Further Reading. It definitely contains a diverse range of topics but I think quite a few essays were wrongly placed. Sure, Jodie Whittaker is a joy to look at but I would have chosen ‘Anger’ and not ‘Joy’ for her interview. In the end, I was a tiny bit disappointed. I was bored and I didn’t really want to continue reading it. Some essays were good, others were quite unnecessary. There was nothing new or revolutionary.
