I liked the learn about part of this book but the communication part was rather disappointing. While I got a basic idea of how to practice awareness and build up the first contact to elementals, every further examples of "communication" were rituals bound to gain benefits, which isn't what I was hoping for. The author described herself as Wiccan, which explains the focus on utilizing the spirits. It was an interesting read but some parts also had a bitter effect on me for example the very careless encouragement to step into fairy rings and even bring children into unguided contact with fairies. Beginners, the targeted audience, should rather learn to stay respectful and wait for very clear signs before they disturb nature spirits. No one gets invited by their first contact.
