Absolutes Highlight. An alle die Andarna vermissen und gerne mehr von ihr hätten ist dieses Buch ein MUSS
Die ersten Kapitel sind ein bisschen zäh. Ich bin nicht sofort in die Geschichte eingetaucht, was wahrscheinlich an der Tatsache liegt das erstmal ein never ending Krieg erklärt wird. Aber danach wird's schwer das Buch wegzulegen. Die Story hat einen sehr guten pace und obwohl einiges an foreshadowing passiert hat es mich dann doch an der ein oder andern Stelle sehr überrascht. Ab und an sind sie Charaktere etwas verbohrt und bisschen dösig unterwegs aber das macht auch den Witz an mancher Stelle aus. Und natürlich: NUR BIPoCs als Maincharacter? Lieben wir. *** SPOILER *** Gay Enemies to Lovers? Lieben wir. Vegetarische Großkatzen mit Hörnern die ggf mit dir bounden damit du Magie nutzen kannst? Count me in. Große Pila-Liebe an der Stelle.
Ich bin SEHR überrascht wie gut mir die Story gefallen hat. Die ersten 50 Seiten wären so „ mäh“ und dann WOW! Ich war gefesselt wie sonst was. Wirklich ein überraschendes Highlight 🫶🏻
Es hat grundsätzlich Spaß gemacht, die Geschichte zu lesen. Der Schreibstil ist sehr eingängig, allerdings war mir alles zu charakterzentriert - auf Kosten des Worldbuildings. Vieles blieb unerklärt und damit sehr unbefriedigend. Die Liebesgeschichten konnte ich leider auch nicht spüren und somit hinterlässt die Story keinen bleibenden Eindruck.
I loved everything about this book and couldn’t put it down! If you want a book with twists that you didn’t see coming, diverse main & side characters and a great writing style that makes you feel as if you’re not reading, then try faebound. Probably one of my favorite reads 2024 already 🫶
That was NOT IT for me sadly. I wanted to love it so much, because the world is interesting, and the magic with the drums…? Nice! But I didn‘t connect with the writing at all, it felt so detached from the characters. I didn‘t feel a single emotion, didn‘t ship any of the romances, didn‘t root for anyone… I am sorry 😭

Faebound war eins der Bücher auf welches ich mich wirklich gefreut habe. Aber leider war's für mich zum Teil wirklich enttäuschend und an manchen Stellen vorausschaubar. Und der Schreibstil war leider auch nicht so ganz meins. Ich mochte die Welt und auch die ganze Geschichte hinter den drei Göttern. Aber des öfteren war ich von Yeeran einfach ein wenig genervt. Ich konnte mich einfach nicht richtig an sie binden, währenddessen ich aber Lettle sehr mochte. Mit den Romanzen konnte ich leider nicht viel anfangen bzw. waren für mich nicht wirklich greifbar. Zum Ende hin wurde es aber dann doch wieder etwas spannender und es fiel mir leichter weiterzulesen. Sicherlich gibt's Menschen die dieses Buch lieben, aber für mich war alles einfach ein wenig zu flach.
Schon jetzt ein Jahreshighlight
Es ist alles, was ich in einem Feen-Buch haben möchte. Ich bin ganz ehrlich. Mit Sarah J Maas bin ich nie warm geworden. Habe mal in eines ihrer Bücher reingelesen, es war nicht meins und dann habe ich viele Meinungen über ihre anderen Reihen gehört und mich dazu entschieden, dass ihre Bücher einfach nichts für mich sind. Und deswegen habe ich auch kaum andere Bücher gelesen, die thematisch in diese Richtung gingen und von ihren inspiriert waren - überhaupt kein Judgement von meiner Seite übrigens, deswegen gibt es ja so viele tolle Bücher, damit für uns alle etwas dabei ist :)! Aber Saara El-Arifi hat mich im letzten Jahr schon sehr begeistert und ich habe extra wegen dieses Buches mein Fairyloot-Abo noch nicht gekündigt, denn es klang als würde es viele Dinge, die mir an Feen-Büchern sonst nicht gefallen, direkt anders machen. Kein eurozentrisches Fantasy-Bild und queere, progressive Themen, und Figuren die nicht nur weiß, hetero und cis sind. Denn eigentlich mag ich die ganzen Mythen rund um Feen und Elfen, sie gehören zu meinen liebsten. Das Buch hat mich nicht enttäuscht. Der Plot war gleichzeitig etwas Neues und hat doch klassische Strukturen aufgegriffen und beides zu einer tollen Geschichte vereint, was nur heißt, dass es wirklich möglich ist: "Alte" Geschichten modern erzählen. Das Worldbuilding ist toll und spannend, ohne zu komplex oder verwirrend zu sein, und ich freue mich darauf, in den nächsten Bänden mehr zu erfahren. Die Welt ist divers und progressiv aufgebaut und bindet trotzdem ernste Themen rund um Vorurteile und Stigma mit ein, ohne aber auf die immer gleichen Gruppen zu treten (Frauen, queere Personen, behinderte Personen), wie wir das sonst oft im Genre haben. Stattdessen wird hier eine eigene Lore mit eigenen Benachteiligungen gestrickt. Die Figuren sind auch definitiv ein großes Highlight. Nicht nur die Hauptfiguren zeichnen sich durch eine große Vielfalt an Eigenschaften und Motivationen aus, auch alle Nebenfiguren fühlen sich gut durchdacht und mit Liebe erschaffen an - auch die antagonistischen Figuren. Ich bin wahnsinnig begeistert von diesem Buch und freue mich sehr auf die weiteren Teile. Ich würde mich auch noch viel mehr freuen, wenn das Buch für eine Übersetzung eingekauft wird - aber bis dahin, lest es! Ich empfinde das Englisch auch nicht als ZU komplex, Saara El-Arifi schreibt schön und flüssig, aber nicht unglaublich ausschweifend, blumig oder kompliziert. Eine große Leseempfehlung.
Gosh I wish I could give this 5 stars as it was my most anticipated book this year. Faebound did not disappoint though! I really liked the story and the writing was neat and flawless. And I'm looking forward to book 2 but also reading more of Saaras work as her books are totally up my alley. Characters were loveable yes but their characteristics felt kind of forced? Like sometimes I felt like one of the charactes would have acted differently in a situation based on how they acted earlier. (Idk does that make sense?) I like myself a nice enemies to lovers story but after being enemies for a while they became lovers in what felt like a second. Like the in between was kinda missing. There was a lot of subtle foreshadowing and maybe they were all just very obvious or I just happen to have been lucky and noticed all of them (which usually doesn't happen) so to me all the "twists" were not surprising and rather predictable. (Spoiler: Like that the queens were gonna die, that the murderers were gondal & what was his name again, that lettles boyfriend (whose name I also forgot) was faebound, that lettle had killed her father et cetera) And just a little guessing ahead for book two: I believe that Nerad (just remembered his name!) is not dead 🫥 because nobody checked? Like Furi didn't even look down the cliff to see his body 🧍♀️ Anyways I'm making it seem like I did not enjoy it but believe me I did. The fantasy aspects were intriguing and the storyline was nice and well executed.

I re-read this jan25 and I'd totally give this 5 stars now and I'm excited for book two.
