Look at me, easily giving away all of my heart. I love witches, I love Granny and I love this novel. Sometimes it is as easy as that 🖤🧙🏻‍♀️

Personally I just loved this book. Granny Weatherwax just fulfills it all. I need to know what happened to Esk. But she hasn't got anymore books! She is in I Shall Wear Midnight briefly but other than that nothing. I need to know!! I have so many unanswered questions.

Pleasently wholesome

A girl wants to become a wizard? Unheard of in the discworld, but old witch granny has other plans and so she ventures with Esk to the unseen university to enroll her. The start of the book was a bit boring, but once in Ankh-Morpok things hastely become entertaining and then it ends. Esk and Granny, aswell es Cutangle are pleasant characters and with the right pacing and content, this trio could make up a great read.

I've tried to get into discworld a number of times. I have a strange relationship with the series, as not only was it my Dad's favourite while I was growing up, but I had the honour to meet the Author back when I was a child. But for whatever reason, I could never get into the books. Until today, I decided to try Equal Rites as a starting off point because there were no expectations on me or it. I fell in love with the thing. I think it's a shame we pratchett didn't do much more with Esk, as I feel there was so much potential there. Though I am glad he did return to her near the end.
