The end of this series left me with mixed feelings. The story continues at a familiar fast pace. It's dramatic, it's epic, it's funny and a bit romantic. Some things are finished (the story about Belial broke my heart), but a great many plot lines are barely finished, if at all. Why is the mother the way she is? Is she in reality not sick at all, but simply knew what was going to happen much earlier than anyone else? Why can the little sister communicate with the grasshopper things? Why do they listen to her? And for me, the ending was too quick. After having to wait so long as a reader for the two to find each other, I would have liked to know a little more about what happens next for both of them in the New World.
Was für ein schöner Abschluß der Saga. 😍😍
Ok, why did it end and where is the next part? I loved the conclusion to this awesome trilogy but I'm far from being able to move on from the apocalyptic World After! I want more! I simply loved the characters and all their flaws. I loved how they tried to overcome their fears. I loved how my heart never stopped beating frantically while reading. I loved how I just couldn't put the book down! So you see, I'm not able to write anything bad in this review other than why it did have to end. I already knew halfway through the second book that three wouldn't be enough and I was right. I like that the ending is open enough to leave the right amount of space for imagination about what could have happened next, but I was so enchanted with the story that it still leaves a bittersweet taste behind now that it ended. To be honest it's been a long time since I read a trilogy so fast and with as much joy throughout. I hope the author keeps the good work up! I'm hooked for more. (Even if it's not about Penryn and the World After, though I said I'm far from being able to let go...)
I didn't quite like it and the book felt so rushed to me that I couldn't get into it. I loved Angelfall but somehow End Of Days was pretty 'meh' to me.
It was a lovely ending.
*4.5 stars* Whyy oh why is this already over?! To be honest, I'm not quite ready to let this world and the characters go ... I'm sure I'll miss them so, so much! Since this is the last book of the series I won't go much into detail as of what happened but I can say that I highly enjoyed it! Penryn is still a very, very likeable and badass character! We saw another side of her in this book where she's a little more ... girly. She's thinking about Raffe most of the time and the what if's but I kinda liked that! No character is badass all the time, so yeah. Plus, that meant we got more of Raffe! And heeeelll, did I like those scenes!!! *___* "You accept me just the way I am, regardless of whether or not I even have wings. Even when I had my demon wings, you've never looked at me with pity. You've never wavered in your loyalty. That's who you are—my brave, loyal, lovable Daugther of Man." It started off pretty epic and hot which was AWESOME. Their relationship is just great and I liked how slow everything was between them ... I mean, yes, it was frustrating as hell at times but I wouldn't want it any other way! There were some very sweet scenes, others were serious and emotional so it was everything I needed and wanted. I also liked the change in Raffe, that he finally "admitted" his feelings for Penryn ... or at least he didn't fight them that hard anymore. He's generally one gorgeous guy/angel. *sigh* He said so many cute things in this book ... it was fantastic! "If I were human, I'd plow the nicest farm for you." He sounds completely sincere. "Better than anyone else's. It would have golden pineapples, the juciest grapes, and the most favorful radishes in the entire world." There was lots of action and no dull moments, if I remember correctly. In fact it was really thrilling, exciting and even horrifying. The writing was great, as usual. Very easy to read and still detailed - I can even imagine this to be a movie! How awesome would that be?! Overall, I can only say that this series is definitely worth reading! If not for the completely crazy and apocalyptic world, then definitely for all those brilliant characters! I'm not kidding! They're amazing and I love them all so, so much! Please read this series, if you haven't done it yet! www.aworldbetweenfoldedpages.blogspot.com ____________________ August 26th, 2015: OHHHH I can't believe I'm already finished! NOOOO, I don't wanna let go of these gorgeous characters! *sigh* But it was great! Highly enjoyed it! :)
I know that half of the book was fan-service and the other half a time travelling paradoxon. Unfortunately I can't help but loving it.
Penryn Young is one of my all-time favourite heroins. I love how unique, bad-ass and independent she is. Sadly she behaved more like a love-drunk teenager in this book. Yes I know, that's what she really is and that's what makes her human in a apocalyptic world full of cruelty. However, there were too many love-ish scenes for my liking. I've heard a lot of people complain about the ending being "too rushed" but I don't see that at all. The ending actually was my favourite part of the story.. It was thrilling, fast-paced and well build. I was constantly in a wave of excitement rooting for Penryn and her people. Other than that I can only say what I've said in my reviews of the first 2 books: the world-building is amazing, the characters are flawless (omg I fell in love with Beliel and the Watchers as well as DeDum), the writing is so cinematic and the whole novel is an absolute page-turner. Just like Angelfall and World After this one has been incredibly fun and emotionally satisfying. I'm so so sad the series is over now and even tho I didn't like this book as much as the first two the Angelfall Trilogy definitely is one of my favourite book-series ever!!
Wegen mangelnder Englischkenntnisse und vorhandener Faulheit, habe ich das Buch nach 59 % abgebrochen :D Ich warte dann doch lieber auf die deutsche Übersetzung, die es hoffentlich zeitnah geben wird!
Perfektion in Buchform ♥
