Alessa is my go-to author, and I am still wondering why I didn’t read No. 4 earlier (it was published in February ‘23). However, here I am: Book No. 3 ended with a huge cliffhanger, and we started right away as we met the Colleoni Family. Unfortunately, this book did not work for me as the others did, and I found myself missing the usual playful banter and undeniable chemistry between the characters. Additionally, certain characters that I admired and considered strong (like Athena) were quite disappointing. Athena seemed to have transformed into something that I found rather bothersome. And where were the others? There were mentions of one or two, but the rest of the family was noticeably absent. I understand that the book focuses on Leo and Dante, but in previous books, there were always subtle hints and appearances from the other characters. Nevertheless, I’ve been waiting for Dante and Leo’s story. Leo’s family played a big role and we got more insight into his life prior to meeting the Edgeworths. I couldn’t help falling in love with Leo’s brothers and their cocky attitudes. (WARNING: SPOILER) Initially, I believed this to be the final installment in the series, yet due to the forthcoming storyline, we can anticipate additional books centered around our beloved family.
