Darkdawn: Book Three of the Nevernight Chronicle (The Nevernight Chronicle, 3, Band 3)

Leider schon wieder zu Ende 😭

Darkdawn hat meine Erwartungen in jeder Hinsicht übertroffen und war für mich ein fulminanter Abschluss einer außergewöhnlichen Trilogie. Von der ersten bis zur letzten Seite hat mich die Geschichte in ihren Bann gezogen, und ich kann ehrlich sagen: Es war ein unglaubliches, emotionales Erlebnis, das mich sogar das ein oder andere Tränchen gekostet hat. Jay Kristoff schafft es, die Welt von Darkdawn mit all ihren Grausamkeiten, Tragödien und Triumphen lebendig werden zu lassen. Die Geschichte ist großartig erzählt und voller Nuancen, die den Leser wirklich packen. Man merkt ganz deutlich, dass Kristoff hier den Ursprung für Empire of the Vampire hatte – für mich ein echtes Heimkommen, das mich sofort in die vertraute Dunkelheit und Tiefe seiner Welten gezogen hat. Auch die Nebencharaktere und deren Geschichten haben sich hier hervorgetan und das Gesamtbild unglaublich bereichert. Sie waren, wie auch schon in den vorherigen Bänden, die tiefe der Welt und brachten viele Emotionen mit ein. Auch wenn ich wehmütig bin, dass die Reise nun zu Ende ist, kann ich mir sicher sein: Diese Reihe wird für mich immer einen besonderen Platz haben und einen Reread absolut wert sein.

~ Ich habe versucht eine spoilerfreie Rezension zu schreiben, aber da einige Stellen doch minimal spoilern könnten, habe ich die Rezension mal entsprechend markiert ~ Was ist hier nur passiert? Die ersten beiden Bände waren so genial, aber das Finale hat mich auf halbem Weg verloren. Ich weiß, dass die meisten dieses Buch total gefeiert haben, und es ist dann gar nicht so einfach eine unpopular opinion zum Besten zu geben. Aber ich kann es nicht ändern, das Finale war im Gegensatz zu den Vorgängern in meinen Augen einfach nicht gut umgesetzt. Zu mehr als 3

well that was disappointing So... I loved the whole idea of "a book in a book" and the revelation of who the narrator of the story was. But that's everything I liked about this book. I didn't believe the romance at all, and it kinda felt like the author only included a queer relationship because it's trendy or something. It just didn't feel real. And the ending was very anti-climatic and boring and confusing. I am done with Jay Kristoffs books; I just don't enjoy them

Bin bisschen sauer wie diese Trilogie geendet hat….Band 1 war so so so GENIAL, Band 2 war auch RICHTIG gut aber der 3 Band?????? Jay Kristoff, was sollte das?!?! Ich war wegen diesem Buch in einer langen Leseflaute weil gefühlt hunderte von Seiten einfach NICHTS passiert ist und es nur so vor sich hinplätscherte, viel zu viele unnötige Sexszenen, Mia x Ashlinn gefiel mir auch einfach gar nicht….Was der Autor aus Tric gemacht hat, fand ich auch so blöd :( Schade, dass der finale Band so schwach ist im Gegensatz zu den Vorgängern.

I really wanted to like this, but I just couldn’t. I think this book is even worse then the second. The characters felt flat and the writing wasn’t as good- the author’s interjections were so smug and self-aware that it drove me mad! The series started off strong and then just petered out... I had so much hopes for the book (and series) but I was clearly disappointed. This book is the third and last book of the Nevernight Chronicles. The first book was a good start and the second, yeah, I had high hopes as well but did not like the Gladiator thing. But tastes are different, right? By the end we got some important information and cliffhanger. This was the reason why I took another chance for the series and it was what it was... Uff. I clearly don't know. Overall it was a nice read and something new but it clearly could be one book and not three. I am aware that some information and storytelling needs to be continued. I did not like that Mia trusted Ashlinn from square one and started this neverending Lovestory. Urgh. Why? She was the traitor! She killed everything and everyone and now she should be Mia's lover and best friend. Oh, hell no. Then Trik is back? What???? Ohhhh I like a good love triangle but this was nothing but absurd. I cried by the end when Trik decided to jump back
