Dimitri x Arlo - A Novella
This is just getting better, huh. Didn't think I would rate anything from this series over 4 stars, but that's only because it was so short that there isn't much I could complain about 😂 But I think the length really worked well for this story. It's basically a murder cover-up. Arlo kills his abusive ex in defense of Dimitri, who then helps him to get rid of the body because he loves Arlo since they were kids, and now they reconnected in university where they've worked at the same coffee shop for 4 years. One might wonder where the connection to the main series is. Well, Dimitri is also a psychopath and his mother is none other than the mysterious Calliope! So we finally get some info on her here, and she is just a great mom, trying to keep him out of trouble (and helping him getting away with murder lol). The Mulvanys also appear, and the next book about Asa gets teased. I really liked Dimitri and Arlo together. They may feel a bit stereotypical, a small twink with a possessive bigger top, but it fit, and I know this author can write other dynamics. Just the... growling was really cringe 😅 This kind of writing is why I probably won't rate any other book of this series higher than 4☆, but that's ok. I read them for entertainment, and that, they are.
