Absolutely best part of the entire series
I really didn't care for Cade as a love interest. He's a murderer masquerading as a priest, but what turned me off the most was when he blames Amaya for his obsession for her. That's rap*st energy, blaming the victim because you couldn't control yourself. Yuck. This book was way too long for how repetitive it was, especially Cade's POV. From the start, he's obsessed with Amaya, he stalks her, he wants to kill her, he beats himself for his "sins" and rinse repeat. There was barely any development for most of this book. Cut out all the chapters in which nothing much happens and you got half a book. This is the only book in the series I truly hated, and it's a waste because Cade is inspired by Claude Frollo who is the best Disney villain ever (with the best song) but Cade has as much personality as a rag. Also, this man only gets a hard-on when he's murdering people or stalking Amaya???? I stand by my statement, rap*st energy. It's not sexy, it's not dangerous, it's just disgusting. Yikes. It felt like this book tried to be similar to "Haunting Adeline" except it's not. Haunting Adeline is a lot of things but it's not boring. This book made me literally fall asleep while I was reading it.
Diese Geschichte war mal was ganz anderes. Mit Teil 1 mein Liebelingsteil.
