This one was kind of a disappointment, really. Reading the discription of Crash and Burn made me think that this book was written just for me. And therefore, I was really, really looking forward to read it. Turns out, however, that this book has loads of different plots going on, including Crash's weird 'friendship' with Burn, the serious disagreements with Jacob, sex, drugs, more parties than you can count, the whole Roxanne story, Felicia, Jamie, Christina and Claudia, more sex, more drugs, even more parties. You get the idea. Personally I didn't like neither Crash nor Burn and I don't get why the two of them seem to have a some kind of relationship in the first place, given the fact that throughout all those pages they literally see and interact with each other like ... five times. Or maybe I'm just to stupid to get the bigger meaning. Anyways, beside the two unlikable characters, I had a hard time dealing with all the stuff that was going on. Like ... it felt like the other was following that one big plot and, while writing it down, thought "Hey, that would be an awesome side-plot!" As a result of this, the book was super busy and definately missed the opportunity to touch me on an emotional level (because, hands down, when the actual siege happend, it just felt like the author wanted to get over it as soon as possible.) (Plus 'the big secret' was SUCH a disappointment!) On a positive note, though, I really liked the writing style. It totally fit the fact that Crash was writing this book, using the language he uses around his boys. Totally bought it. Plus, for no particular reason at all, I really liked Newman and am slightly pissed that he didn't appear more often. 2.75* in total.
