Beschreibung

The first book in an epic, heart-pounding fantasy duology about two royal heirs, who are engaged and yet their loyalties are torn as a ruthless enemy threatens their world, perfect for fans of The Tiger at Midnight, We Hunt the Flame, and An Ember in the Ashes.

Adraa and Jatin are heirs to the thrones of neighboring kindoms and each extraordinarily talented in the nine colors of magic. Their arranged marriage will unite much of Wickery's fractured world but, after years of rivalry from afar, they only agree on one thing: their reunion will be anything but sweet.

Except destiny has other plans and with the criminal underbelly of Belwar making a move for control, their paths cross...and neither realizes who the other is, each of them having adopted a secret identity. Amidst dodging deathly spells, Adraa and Jatin must learn to put their trust in the other if either is to uncover the real threat. Now Wickery's fate is in the hands of rivals..? Fiancées? Partners? Whatever they are, it's complicated and bound for greatness or destruction.

My world is cast in firelight.

✩Beyond any doub, in this moment I know he loves me as much as I love him.✩ Cast in Firelight is a really great book. The author has created an incredibly fantastic world. Magic plays a particularly large role in this world...fire, ice...they all exist. From the very beginning, the entire book revolves around Adraa and Jatin, both heirs to the throne of two different yet neighboring kingdoms. The chapters are told alternately from their points of view, which gives the author a very good insight into the two characters. Adraa and Jatin were promised to each other at the age of 8/9 and since then they have made a competition out of everything. They had not seen each other again until their 17/18th birthdays. An unintentional meeting took place on the streets of Belwar, Adraa's kingdom. She recognized him, but he didn't recognize her. Halfway through the book, they encounter each other with false identities Caught in their web of lies, Adraa and Jatin fall in love. But do they both really love their true selves or just their illusions? Together they fight against evil and literally have to go through death to find each other...to really love each other. I can recommend this multi-faceted story to all fantasy and magic fans. Although I read the book in English, I had no problems understanding it. ______Spoiler______ I love the relationship between Adraa and Riya and Jatin and Kalyan. There was also a part at the end where Riya and Kalyan got closer. 🫶🏼 The two of them really fit together. My favorite parts were the ones where Jatin and his father got together. It got really emotional after the "death" of Adraa and the awakening of the grief and feelings of his mother who died at an early age. I also liked it when you got to know Prisha, Adraa's little sister, and how Adraa protected her from Moolek. Moolek was definitely the disgusting character. I mean 45 and 18 years? What the **** I liked the changing perspective. But most importantly...Adraa and Jatin are literally dying for each other. 🫶🏼 I really love this book, a bit more towards the end than the beginning!!!

I cannot put into words how great I think this book is. So I won't. Just teose two things: Seldom have I read a cuter or more amazing couple than Adraa and Jatin. This is just perfect. I can't wait to read more of them and that brings me to the second thing: I cannot wait for book two! :o (and can only recommend to read this one - absolutely a favourite of mine :3)
