I thank IG and whoever posted this series. This is a gem. For me.
It's weird that I start my posts with "I love..." or "This is great...", but how else can I convey that I am obsessed with everything about it? That I can't put the (e)book down because of the pace of the story, the characters, the adventures, the atmosphere, the plot? How else can I say that I am enthralled by Layala and Thane, and their back and forth? How else can I make you, the reader, realize that if you are like me you would also find this book amazing? Sure it has some problems, like the typos I have been seeing every now and then. But I honestly do not care enough because everything I mentioned above trumps this tiny problem. Anyways, on to the next book!
really has me struggeling with the rating here. It was good. great. I overall enjoyed this read! The word setting and story was intriguing and i quickly grew fond of the main characters Layala (who my brain refuses to call said name and instead insists to call her Layla every.damn.time. I see her name) and Thane. They were fun, they had some amazing banter. And I was rooting for them badly. We got everything I ask for in a romance. Fated mates. Possessive elves. Fighting. Feelings. And we get the one horse trope on top. All signs for a five star read, right? Yes. But. Here’s what made me omit stars: 1. The pace of this book. It shouldn’t have taken me 4 days to read those 500 pages. Yes I was busy, so hadn’t had much time to read. But I also didn’t go out of my way to make time. What I would have done for a five star read. Whilst I got quickly into the story, it also lost me a bit as quickly too. In the middle of the book it just dragged a bit and my motivation to continue got less and less. 2. the relationship between Laya and Thane, especially from Thane’s side. I hoped for a bit more enemies to lovers action. Thane was a bit too trusting for my taste. He was heads over heels for this woman too fast. You can argue now, that he sort of knew her because of this bond. But despite that, she was still a stranger. A stranger that tried to kill and poison him. A bit unrealistic given he is a king after all and has some responsibilities. That man was down to hand her his kingdom from Minute one. That is a bit too much insta love for my taste and for it to make sense, Thane. Level it down a bit and I’m on board again. But despite those two aspects, that sadly (especially the first) lessened my experience relevantly, it was still an enjoyable read! I’m super curious about the entire world and where things will go in the next books. And damn Thane yes you gave in too fast. But he was hot doing it. There’s just something about possessive mates that gets me gooooing yk? And boy that man was possessive much. And I loved every second of it. He’s hot that one. Just how we all love them. You’re gonna enjoy him very much. Excited to read book two now and see we’re those two lovebirds and their friends continue in their journey to make their world a peaceful and better place. 3.5
