Beschreibung

Avalon Spy Academy rules: spy on the fey, resist falling for your mentor, and try not to die in the process.

What I’m hoping for on my European vacation is to read books and drink champagne on the beach. Instead, I end up kidnapped by a lethally sexy fey named Raphael.

It turns out, I have a magic power needed to fight an evil fey king. Next thing I know, Raphael has enrolled me in an elite spy academy. There, in the ancient and gothic halls of Avalon Tower, snobbery and brutal competitions are among the oldest traditions.

Making my job harder, the silver-eyed Raphael is my mentor. Romance is forbidden here; a distracted spy is a dead spy. So I need to push his dangerous allure out of my mind as we travel into the Fey realm. If we get captured by the fey king, we’ll die horrific deaths–and humanity won’t stand a chance. If you liked Frost and City of Thorns, you will love Avalon Tower.

Overall a solid fantasy book, just very generic. I feel like if you are new to the genre you will really enjoy it tho.

I was really sceptical at first, because the beginning was really awkward and some of the dialogues made me cringe. Nia's decision to leave her old life behind just like that seems more than questionable. But the story grew on me the longer I read it and I'm looking forward to book 2.

I am actually not sure what to think of this book. It’s a nice read and I was intrigued because everybody is talking about it. I like the FMC a lot and the Storyworld is a nice idea. But that is all. The story is fast paced but also not so engaging that I was on the edge of my seat. Everybody tells me to read book 2 - this is where the magic shall happen - So I’ll go and do that haha Sorry this review is boring - but I don’t feel bad about the book or very hyped up. So let’s see what book 2 will bring. It’s a solid read and I hope I’ll see more of Talon and Nia. Because I’m actually not a big fan of Raphael.
