Richtig, richtig gut.

Boy, was I wrong. 🙈🤣 Ich werde die Tage auf jeden Fall mal schauen, das ich die weiteren 3 Bände in der Bücherei ausleihen werde.

Richtig, richtig gut.

MEH IS ALL I WANT TO SAY ABOUT THIS BOOK. I will be continuing with the series because my dear sister bought the whole series for me :( It's so sad to spend money on such good looking and nicely done books that they turn out so bad.

More like 3.5 Stars. It's a nice story but I thought it would be a lot more intense.

Such a promising idea, the physical book one of the prettiest and scariest I've seen in a while, even the writing style is okay... but where the is so much potential, there is always the chance of a let down. And Asylum delivered just that. The characters seem interesting on the outside, but the more you get to know them, the more shallow, boring and predictive they get. The same with the end, it was easy to guess who was behind everything. In places, for 2 or 3 pages, the story picked up and got really good, but the next pages always let you down again. I'm not saying don't read it, if you are easily scared you might enjoy it, and for the pictures and the pretty book alone it is worth a buy and looks awesome on your shelf. I might even give the second book a try to see if it gets better, this one just wasn't for me. (Maybe my expectations were too high going in.)

Yup, I won't read the rest of the series. The plot was incredibly boring and I couldn't care less about the characters and the narrative's forced romance. The friendship between them, and even more so the relationship, moved way too fast and made it unbelievable. TBH, I didn't even consider this book as mystery thriller or anything else falling in this category. As excited as I was about the pictures, they brought nothing to the table. The idea was probably great but I don't really understand what the author was aiming for. Even the title "Asylum" seems misplaced. There was nothing spooky, except the tediousness it evoked in me.

3.5 stars! Firstly I have to admit that the reason why I wanted to read this book in the first place was this awesome cover. I was looking for some scary and spooky books to read around Halloween and it was the cover what actually drew me to the book. As in many other books lately there are some very creepy photos featured in this book; photos, that kind of freaked me out. Well, at least some of them. Also some of them looked like they were photoshopped. I just love the whole design of the book. I even loved the fonts which are were pretty neat. Like I said before I was looking for some scary books to read during fall but unfortunately the scariest part of this book was the photos. At the beginning I was totally into the story and the characters. I loved it. I really did. But the more pages I read the more I got annoyed by the characters. I mean they made some ridiculously stupid desicions, sometimes I just felt like slapping them right in their faces. Sadly, for a horror story, Asylum was kind of disappointing. To be honest, I expected a whole lot more and I hoped for it to be much scarier than in actually was. Some creepy notes (which weren't that creepy anyway) do not make a spooky horror book. Also there was a lot of teenage drama in it, which wasn't that bad but which I didn'IMG_7295t like that much either. While I was totally into the book at the beginning, the end turned out to be very disappointing. What I also didn't like was when the main characters started to drift apart. They acted so weird sometimes and I didn't even understand why because it came all out of nowhere. But what I really liked was that the history of the former asylum was mixed up in the whole story and I loved the connection between the asylum and the main characters. I also loved the atmosphere of the book. I really had fun reading it even though I didn't like it that much. So overall Asylum was a good book. It definitely had a lot of potential, sadly it wasn't what I've expected in the first place. If you want to read a scary book that doesn't scare the hell out of you you might want to read this one. It's not that bad but it's also not the best book I've read. I'm gonna start the second book tonight because even though I didn't like it quite that much I definitely want to now how the story continues.
