I was looking forward to reading a book by James swallow because of the Nomad (i havent read yet) quartet that im yet to dive into. This book was a definite 2.5⭐️s for me. The story was too long and the characters wede barely explained to make them interesting. We dont get to understand why he spit with his wife, we dont get a proper look into Kevin and his experience with life. We also see Maddie and Audrey from a distance like a perfunctory lesbian couple on order to meet a quarter. I really wanted tp give up severally but the action scenes were interesting so those kept me going. It’s so frustrating when the characters are half baked and the plot line is also splintered. Maybe some focus would have better been used to fill out the gaps in “Olegs business” and learn of what happened to Kevin’s job. Any one man’s trash is another’s treasure.
