Auch Band 3 ist packend und wahnsinnig gut durchdacht. Große Liebe! 💜
amazing
this is literally the ya edition of game of thrones, in the best way possible intrigues, a gigantic war, a fight against a supernatural evil, unusual alliances and most pf all A LOT OF HURT MRS SABAA TAHIR IF I DONT GET AT LEAST 5 MINUTES OF HAPPINESS IN THE LAST BOOK OF THE SERIES IM WRITING YOU AN EMAIL (and npt a nice one!!!!)
I absolutely love it! :) still super exiting since book 1.
Unglaublich gut
3.5
What in the hell was that? I just didn‘t care for pretty much the entire plot, Laia and Elias were just straight up boring. Laia‘s storyline actually annoyed me, how many times will she try saving the Scholars and fail. Gaaah. I enjoyed Helene‘s, excuse me, the Blood Shrike‘s storyline though. I freaking hope she kills the Commandant in the last book, cause boy oh boy that woman pissed me the fuck off. 🙃 That‘s pretty much the only reason for me to read the last book at this point, just so that I can see that scene. I didn‘t like how Sabaa Tahir introduced the whole Adisa storyline with the king & Musa etc and then had no resolution of that whatsoever. As far as I know, the city was also supposed to be attacked, I don‘t even know the book was so confusing at times (or I‘m just dumb). We could have easily dealt without that storyline. Why did we spend the entire 2nd book saving Darin just so that he can a.) be the most annoying & overprotective character ever and b.) be mainly ignored throughout the whole book. Some more things I actually liked: the Livia storyline, Marcus‘s (kinda) redemption in the end, his death lol, Helene freaking Aquilla (yes, I already said that), Helene ripping off her mask (although I really don‘t wanna imagine that too vividly) and last but not least Harper! Overall, the book had its moments but all in all, this just felt like a filler book. Nothing really happened, the Karkauns and their sudden appearance confused me real hard and I wasn‘t a big fan of the way the magic system developed (ghosts, really?).
“Hope is stronger than fear. It is stronger than hate.” It is with a heavy heart that I need to rate a book in this series with less than 5 stars. Seriously, I am disappointed that I didn't love this! Just looking at how long it took me to read this (over a week) signalizes the struggles I had with this book. If I love a book, I usually finish it in two or three days. With this book, I often fell asleep after 40 pages... Luckily somebody told me this wasn't the last book; I would have been so disappointed. As the quote says: hope is stronger than everything. This book however felt hopeless. Not a single thing went right here, and while yes, of course there needs to be an opposition, just one plan going right would have made this book a satisfying read. All the defeat and pain made the book drag a lot for me... What I liked: I love Helena. She is a character I admire, she goes through a lot, but is still standing. Her evolution is extraordinary, and she finally deserves some happiness. I really hope the last book will be able to grip me more, and make the connection between me and Elias, Laia and Hel come back again!
4,75 stars I really enjoyed this third installment in the series. I feel like the stakes were RAISED in this book, and I loved it. I hate nothing more than a book where you already know that everything is going to be resolved at the end, but this book really made me super anxious for the characters and their fates. I feel like the characters grew even more since the last book, and their roles in their stories are much more pronounced, and intricate now, which I LOVED. This book reminded me why I love Fantasy books so much. This world is so vast and fascinating, I loved it!
Every book in this series is just as good as the last. Intrigues and armed conflicts, known enemies and new allies, supernatural elements and human relationships, every part of this story is so well done. I don't really know what to say, except that this is so so so so good.
