Band 3 aus der "Married into Magic"-Reihe
Die Reihe wirbt ja damit, dass man die Bücher einzeln lesen kann - was auch stimmt. Allerdings zeichnet sich jetzt ein gewisses Handlungsschema ab, was immer gleich abläuft: Held und Heldin werden verheiratet (mit oder ohne Wissen der Heldin), lernen einander kennen, dann lieben und am Ende löst sich alles recht actionreich zur Zufriedenheit aller Beteiligten auf. Ach ja, nicht zu vergessen: Eine Sexszene gibt's auch immer, so bei etwa 70 Prozent des Buchs. Der Haken ist nur, dass bis zum Ende sich die Story zeitweise gewaltig zieht. Das war im letzten Band schon so, hier spürt man es aber noch deutlicher, weil das Buch dicker ist als die beiden früheren (wenn mich nicht alles täuscht). Es braucht also schon einiges Geduld, bis endlich mal etwas Neues passiert ... Ich fand die Idee mit dem Fluch echt interessant, aber das steht lange im Hintergrund. Im Vordergrund steht erst mal die Abneigung der beiden Hauptfiguren (die dann für meinen Geschmack recht abrupt endet), viele Dialoge, wenig Action. Klar, es ist Romantasy, aber der Fantasy-Anteil und das Worldbuilding dieser Vampirgesellschaft steht damit erst mal hintenan. Fazit: Leider nicht so ganz das, was ich mir erwartet hatte. Starker Anfang und starkes Ende, aber dazwischen war's für mich leider recht zäh. Hätte ich nicht darauf vertraut, dass das Ende noch was kann, hätte ich vermutlich aufgegeben und abgebrochen. Heißt für mich aber auch, dass das mein letztes Buch aus dieser Reihe war. Noch zwei gleich aufgebaute Bücher brauche ich nicht mehr ...

Wenn ich ehrlich bin... Ich weiß nicht, ob ich das Buch mag oder nicht. Die Enemies to Lovers Spannung war für meinem Geschmack viel zu kurz und die Romanze viel zu schnell da. Überhaupt, hat mich die Romanze zwischen der Jägerin und dem Vampir eher gestört. Was viel spannender war, war die Story an sich rund um den Fluch. Es war spannend und die Lösung am Ende fand ich gut. Überhaupt nag ich das Happy End. :) Zwischendrin war es mir fast schon etwas zu düster, was aber Primär daran lag, dass ich nicht mit einer Apocalypse gerechnet habe. Da hat mir das Lesen sehr erschwert. Ich bin froh, dass ich es beendet habe, bereue das Lesen aber nicht.
This book was more about fighting Zombies than it was about Vampires, except for the (horribly written) smut scenes.
I read it for the romance, but stayed for the world building and the blood lore. Surprised me in positive ways.
Hands down: this might have been the best one in the series so far. I adore this series. These might be the best fantasy romance standalones out there. At least the best series I’ve read so far! 4.5

Though I'm tired of the recurring plotline, I have already put so much energy and time into this story that I don't think I can stop. I will just have to push through and read the entire series without any specific motivation. The book has similarities with its predecessors: an adequate storyline, cheesy dialogue, likeable characters, and a general dull ambiance. Also, the characters and settings are almost identical to the earlier books. While I found the first half of the book engaging, the latter half turned out to be tedious. Consequently, I am unsure if I enjoyed the book overall. The series' magical world-building is one of its most outstanding features; from the first page, the spells, creatures, and the world itself captivate the reader. I also liked our MCs Floriane and Ruvan; they both have interesting character development and background stories, much more than the other couples in the series. Even though they had tension, the romance wasn’t doing all that much for me and fell a little flat. As soon as you thought they were close to solving the curse, something dramatic happened. First, it was fun, but then annoying. Therefore, in my opinion, the book was too long and made it boring. Overall, this was an okay read; nothing groundbreaking, but it’s an easy read for passing the time.
4 ★ i really like vampire romances & this was a really good one but i still think some scenes were too long which made it sometimes boring.
My favourite book in the Married to Magic series. I love everything about it. The lore. The magic. The smithing. The dialogue. The banter. It's utterly fantastic. The characters are all really interesting and have a lot of depth to them. I loved every single one, even the ones I didn't really like at first I grew to love over time. It's going to be hard to top this book.
