A great novella about being young, making mistakes and the importance of free will.

"A Clockwork Orange" may at first seem just as an assortment of violent scenes, strung together with a garbled language full of borrowed Russian words. However, once taken at a closer glance, it becomes clear that Anthony Burgess has created an allegory about the process of reforming. This is the stuff on which the modern principle of reforming a criminal are based on: that the consequences of a criminal act should not be based on the severity of the punishment, nor on a compulsory abstinence from criminal acts; but on the inner drive of the delinquent to change himself for himself.
