I'm usually not the biggest fan of the new adult genre. Too much weird and unrealistic drama. But I'm a huge fan of the Mismatched Mates series by the same author and I was in the mood for a little over the top romance, so I bought this book on a whim. It wasn't that bad, I genuinely enjoyed parts of it. But Sebastian was a bit to whiny for my liking and the miscommunication became annoying real quick. The changing POVs didn't help, because both MCs were basically drooling over each other without noticing the other one felt exactly the same. I liked the non-toxic jealousy and protectiveness, though. Oh and there is one thing that really bugged me and I need to get it out of my system: In one scene Aidan thinks about Sebastians legs being hairy and that it surprisingly doesn't faze him. He remembers a danish girl he used to know who told him that european girls didn't care about shaving (and neither did the guys care if the girls had hairy legs or not). This is so wrong. The pressure to be perfectly hairless as a girl here is HUGE and I struggled with it all through my adult life. Especially guys don't tolerate hairy legs (and armpits and even vaginas) at all! And I've visited a lot of other countries in Europe (including Denmark) with exactly the same beauty standards. I haven't seen a hairy leg on a woman under 60 in over twenty years, no matter where I went.
